Man why is it always the incompetent next generation that ruins the works of the previous ruler? This is why the throne should be passed down to capable person, not through nepotism babies šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

You must be blind if you don't see the chemistry and a career woman doesn't necessarily want a career man šŸ˜‚.…
lol while I personally don’t think this drama needs romance (low-key romance is fine). You right. People fall for who they fall for. Some career people like another career people, some don’t. Kinda weird to everybody dating preferences in a box

Am I the only one who agrees with what Bang Ji Mook said to Hong in episode 8? Is there no way to uncover the…
Most if not all big corporations are corrupted to some extent anyway, they avade taxes, slush funds etc… but they do help the economy by giving out jobs. So without them, job market is screwed. With IMF crisis, now is a really bad time to bring down Hanmin. Why would you want to add more unemployment? I agree more with the bang guy than FL. That’s why she’s the Fl I guess. Sorry but common people like me would just care about keeping my job during recession. It’s not like that slush fund money is gonna go to me anyway 🤣 unless it’s my money that they’re stealing, I don’t care 😜

We know about the sticker, but she didn't
I see. But I still find it sloppy writing that she did not do a thorough snoop of the roommate’s belongings. She was suspiciously so fidgeting about that notebook since the beginning, they even fought about it. Shouldn’t be hard to peep either, they literally live in the same room. The writing is unconvincing to me

there's no way she can end up with someone romantically, let's think about some other 1997/1998 kdramas we know…
Yea at this moment, a loveline would feel very forced. Wouldn’t match the plot of this drama

Ep 7, can’t believe it took Miss Hong that long to figure out the notebook. Didnt the dead director already mentioned to her in ep 1 that it would be in a notebook? And she saw the notebook with the sticker on it when she first met Bok Hui. Am I missing something? Also she never bothered to look inside to check? They literally share a room

Ep 38 reminds me of Zhuge Liang in Romance of three kingdoms. Hac the perfect fire trap, yet failed at the last minute due to the fateful rain that fell. He could only stands in the rain and cries. Sometimes we just cant win against fate

Consequentially, because Guo Wei became the emperor, we have Guo Rong who later became the emperor. And their reign was the most capable and stable out of all the rulers during that era. Such a shame they died too early.

Kinda sad that most of the rulers from this era seem to die from illness after getting the throne. Stress really is dangerous. How much stress it must have been to be a ruler during such a chaotic period. I would die after day 1 lol

I started watching this drama with no expectations at all. After The Legend of Magnate there hadn’t really been…
He existed. But maybe not as the drama portrayed. I saw some mention of him in the Wikipedia for Hu Jin Si

ā€œ Around new year 948, Qian Hongzong began to discuss with two officials that he felt he could trust, He Chengxun (何承訓) and Shuiqiu Zhaoquan (氓丘昭券), on possibly expelling Hu from the headquarters. Shuiqiu thought it might be dangerous to do so due to Hu's hold on the army, and therefore Qian hesitated. He Chengxun, fearful that the news might leak, instead decided to leak it to Hu himself. One night, when Qian was holding a feast, Hu thought that Qian was intending to act against him then, and therefore gathered his soldiers and headed for the king's mansion. He surrounded the mansion and put the king under house arrest, and the issued an order in the king's name, claiming that the king had suffered a stroke and was therefore passing the throne to his younger brother Qian Hongchu. When he went to offer the throne to Qian Hongchu, Qian Hongchu agreed, on the condition that Qian Hongzong's life be spared. When Hu agreed, Qian Hongchu took the throne (as King Zhongyi).[9]ā€

I like Yang Zi and Hu Ge but not sure about this synopsis. What’s the vibe of the drama like? Is it about friendship? Nationalism?

Probably the most foolish emperor in history, when a general commanding tens of thousands of troops was still…
About 150 years later (basically the outcome of the five dynasties and 10 kingdoms period that the drama is showing, while the Han Chinese are still trying to get back all of China from the foreign invaders. There’s a famous general Yue Fei, he was winning battle left and right for the Southern Song. But he was called back and executed based on false charges because he was politically inconvenient. The king and his supporters wanted to keep the ā€œpeacefulā€ life that they had, and they were still afraid of strong militant men due to the trauma from this era. Basically the were selfish and wanted to keep their powers

To this day, Chinese people still hate the people that harmed Yue Fei. They even made statues of them and spit on it.

Yea, some people with power are really selfish. And dumb

Historians says that the core weakness of the southern song (the one that came about after this era) was military power. They saw so many military usurpers during this era (5D 10K) they dont want to repeat that.

Which all shows that people who came into power did not care for the greater good of the people and nation, but only themselves and keeping their power
