it is still early because D+ has never taken cdrama rights for international market
I thought they did as it in mention in MDL. Netflix usually take C-drama right for international broadcast mainly from Youku & some selective Tencent & MangoTV but never from Iqiyi. Let's hope that it'll be available in Netflix specially in my region š„ŗš„ŗš„¹š„¹
Looks like disney+ has the right of this drama for international broadcast, so it won't be available in Netflix ššššš. Moreover, disney+ isn't available in my country ššš
republican and costume. There will be several different time periods.
I have a question how are they going to show the four eras? I highly doubt theyāll use reincarnation because that probably wouldnāt pass censorship.
So how exactly will they execute it? Will it be something like the leads reading a book and the different eras are actually the plot inside the book? Or maybe a game or virtual world plot? Iām really curious about how theyāre going to handle the transitions between the eras.
Will this be the first drama I actually drop? Iāve never dropped a K or C drama before. Right before this, I watched "Dr. Romantic"āI finished S1 in just 3 days, and S2 and S3 within 2 days each despite them having 16 eps. I was always excited for the next ep and excited to see what would happen in the upcoming eps, which is something Iām totally not feeling here.
But with this drama, Iām struggling to finish each ep. After every ep, I honestly feel like dropping it. Iām currently on ep 6. I usually finish a 12-ep drama within 2 days, but I highly doubt that will be the case with this one.
Iām completely fine with friendship and slice-of-life genres, but this one just isnāt clicking for me. My main issue is that itās supposed to be a medical drama, yet they barely focus on complicated surgeries or show how the leads overcome difficult medical cases. The surgeries are also not shown properly or explained in detail, including how they are conducted. It also feels like some scenes were cut, even though each ep is around 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
I do like the leadsā friendship, even Jeong-wonās motherās friendship with Mr. Ju. I also want to see the leadsā relationship progress, but Iām still having a hard time continuing despite liking those aspects. It feels boring at times. It wouldāve been better if the runtime were shorter, or if they had included more interesting scenes.
One of my favorite medical series is "Greyās Anatomy" because it balances everythingāfriendship, relationships, personal struggles, and medical cases. But the core focus still remains on challenging surgeries and how the doctors handle them together. Thatās the element I feel is missing here.
Deng Enxi & Wang Xing Yue look so beautiful & handsome respectively in their wedding attire. Especially Deng Enxi, she looking so breathtaking in that wedding outfit š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°š„° I can't take my eye from her.
Finally, I believe those short-drama makers should face serious consequences. They should be required to pay heavy compensation only then will people think twice before doing something like this. Writing apology letters achieves nothing; real accountability comes when there are financial consequences.
I DON'T WANT TO WATCH AI-GENERATED MOVIES & DRAMAS. ONLY HUMAN TALENT SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED IN THE CREATIVE INDUSTRYāWHETHER ITāS ENTERTAINMENT, WRITING, PAINTING, OR SINGING. REAL EFFORT AND TALENT SHOULD ALWAYS BE PRIORITIZED FIRST.
I was supposed to give it an 8, but because of that final episode, I ended up giving it a 10. I loved how Yeon Si Eun beat the shit out of all the bullies in the end. While watching that scene, I felt the exact same rage as him. I was completely immersed, almost urging him to killed those bastards.
That surge of emotions rage, fear, adrenaline, tension, anger, desperation, and even a strange sense of satisfaction is exactly why I love action and crime dramas as well as movies . Your heart starts racing, your fists clench, and you feel every hit, every moment of fear, and every bit of revenge. But very few scenes manage to create that level of intensity.
The last time I felt something like that was while watching The Glory, Flower of Evil, and Love Like the Galaxy especially that scene where Ling Bu Yi, covered in blood, killed his father. That was such satisfying moment.
All in all, it was a great watch.
BTW why the fuck is Hong Kyung so cute!! ššššššš I canāt take my eyes off him especially when he cries, his whole face turns red, especially his nose. š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°
Very well said, thank you! I want to watch live talented human actors/actresses! "Artificial Intelligence"…
Yes, just like mini-dramas and vertical dramas have their own audiences. Before vertical dramas became popular, mini-dramas had a huge following. But once vertical dramas gained popularity, a lot of viewers shifted their attention to them.
If they really want to create an AI-based entertainment industry, then they should keep it separateājust like anime, animation, and cartoons have been doing for years. They have their own dedicated fan base.
Iām not personally an anime or animation viewer, but I truly admire their work. The editing, graphics, and character design are all beautifully done. Thatās real creativity and talent, and it clearly shows in those projects.
If the Industry shifts towards just AI, people will just get nostalgic and watch old dramas and tv series only.…
Isnāt this exactly what the Chinese entertainment industry is trying to doāshift toward AI? Recently, the CEO of iQIYI mentioned at a conference that they plan to invest heavily in AI-generated dramas in the near future. At the same time, they also know that many audiences wonāt willingly watch fully AI-made content. So, now they're signing contracts with a large number of actors to use their faces in AI productions, hoping fans will still watch because of their favorite. I donāt know how true that is, but I really hope it isnāt. I honestly donāt want actors supporting this bullshit.
If they want to make AI dramas, fine, then at least be creative and build completely original AI actors and actresses. Why use real peopleās identities? Of course, some people will still watch it to support their favorite, but I am out of this bullshit.
From my perspective, they're doing all this because of money and lack of creativity. Investing in A-list actors is expensive, and relying on newcomers doesnāt always guarantee viewership. So this seems like a shortcut, cut costs while still attracting audiences. Plus, real actors can get into controversies or even be banned, which creates risks for production companies. With AI actors, they wouldnāt have to deal with any of that.
If they want to use AI so badly, then at least use it in a meaningful way. Donāt take away artistsā hard workāor anyone elseās, for that matter. AI tools can be helpful for things like editing, graphics, and design, but I donāt think itās right to rely on them completely. Just like Liu Yuning mentioned using AI tools to assist in making music, the industry could use AI as support, not as a full replacement.
The question isnāt really whether AI will take over the entertainment industry. The real question is why movies, dramas, songs, and anime are made in the first placeāfor US, the audience. Do we actually want to spend our time and money on something that feels so artificial and emotionally empty?
No matter how advanced AI gets, it just canāt recreate that raw, human feeling. When I watch a drama, I feel what the actors feel. I cry with them, laugh with them, get frustrated with them. That connection comes from real people putting real emotion into their work. You canāt program that. You can imitate it, sureābut itāll never feel the same. Writers and directors build stories that connect with our emotions on a deeper level. That kind of authenticity just canāt be replicated by AI.
Last month, I read an article claiming that an AI-generated vertical drama reached 1 billion views in China. Curious, I tried watching a couple of AI vertical dramas myself and they were awful. Forget the plot or acting; even the dialogue didnāt match the lip movements. Maybe thatās due to low budgets, but even with high-budget productions, I doubt the emotional depth would be the same. If iQIYI were to produce an AI drama, the visuals might be top-notch, but the emotional authenticity and human talent would still be missing.
I was worried that audiences might start accepting AI-generated dramas, but itās somewhat reassuring to see that many people are against the idea of using actorsā faces to create AI versions. If viewers stop supporting such content, production might slow down. However, I doubt it will stop entirely, curiosity and the appeal of seeing their favoriteās actors faces may still draw people in.
As someone who watches vertical dramas, I know they often have plot issues, but they also feature many talented actors. Itās disheartening to see that just as some of them were starting to gain recognition and opportunities with larger production houses, AI bullshit is now threatening their livelihoods. These days, it feels like one or two AI-generated vertical dramas are released every day.
For me personally, if the industry fully shifts toward AI, Iām out. I donāt want to watch something that doesnāt feel real. At that point, itās just content not storytelling.
The amount of hate Zhang Ling He is receiving feels quite excessive. Itās surprising how being good-looking can become a reason for criticism. The āFoundation Generalā comments are also getting repetitive, as if he personally runs the makeup and costume department. He can give his opinion, sure, but the final decisions are made by the director and the production team.
On Reddit, people keep claiming that heās only popular because of strong 'backing' and his visuals, as if their own favorites arenāt attractive. Visual appeal has always been part of the entertainment industry, and itās not unique to him.
Then comes the funniest partāpeople claiming WeTV, iQIYI, and the production company nearly went bankrupt trying to make āPOJā a hit š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ Do they even hear themselves? Thatās not how billion-dollar companies work. Apparently now those ālossesā are magically being recovered by new dramas too. Itās actually impressive how confidently people speak on things they clearly donāt understand.
There are no chi wen's orders here. Everything jiling is doing now is from his own. Chi wen was not there since…
That I know however Chi Wen consciousness is still in Dragon Abyss. Ji Ling may go there time to time to inform him. However, he may turn greedy as well for power & all who knows that his actual plan is.
That's what LoL. They say two people are this and that. But there's are two other people playing this and thatšš¤”
Jiu Ying said to Ji Ling that Six-Eyed Butterfly Demons took the dying Yuan Wu Huo's body so that they can know Chi Wen's plan & locate the tenth Dragon.
I have a few questions after watching episode 18. If Li Jie is one of the Six-Eyed Butterfly Demons, then who were Yuan Wu Huo and Yuan Xi Zai in his illusion? Was it the old commanderās story that he relived to make him doubt his own identity? And is that why Yuan Wu Huo wanted him in the illusionāso he could exchange bodies with Li Jie (as hinted in the episode 19 trailer)?
We all know the purpose of the WuWu coupleās illusion, but what was the purpose of the LuJi coupleās illusion? Was it to uncover Jiu Yingās origin, as Ji Ling mentioned before coming out of the illusionāthat he had found all the answers he was looking for?
Also, what do you all think about his approach toward Jiu Ying? Do you really believe he intends to team up with Jiu Ying to kill the Dragon brothers, or is he simply acting under Chi Wenās orders? Personally, I feel itās the latter. I will be happy to proven wrong. I would like to see a negative ML that will be interesting to watch.
From the 5th episode I came to the conclusion that he has a secret identity. We saw someone sacrificing their…
In latest episode some part of his identity got reveal. It will be interesting to see upcoming episodes whether my theories will be true or it will be entirely something else, proving me wrong.
Wu Shi Guang is becoming more & more mysterious. At first, I was worried whether he would have any role in the Dragon vs. Jiu Ying conflict. After watching a few episodes, I first thought he was Jiu Ying reincarnation version. But after seeing episodes 10 and 12, I feel like he may have another identity, since he isn't from the Flood Dragon clan; however, in a promotional clip, there is a dragon behind him. So, could he be one of the nine Dragon sons or the son of one of them. Another thing I have noticed is that both Shi Guang and Wang Yan have the same surname, 'Wu'. Also, in a recent episode, it is revealed that the Formless Moon Sect is searching for Wu Shi Guang. Maybe he is the son of one of the nine-tailed foxes. There are so many theories in my head about his background.
So how exactly will they execute it? Will it be something like the leads reading a book and the different eras are actually the plot inside the book? Or maybe a game or virtual world plot? Iām really curious about how theyāre going to handle the transitions between the eras.
