What a ride. Absolutely brilliant. There were moments where I thought it's gonna go south but it quickly recovered and yeah I thought casting was excellent. Not sure if it was because of a binge or not I didn't find that SML was taking too much time in second half.Kept waiting for it though (in retrospect that wait was the most annoying - should've ignored comments as well). Synopsis set completely different expectations and is one of the reasons why I stayed away from it for so long. FL was amazing, SML too. No weird triangles or misunderstandings. Happy end for secondary couples, just enough of humour and practically no angst. One of my most enjoyable binges in a long time (and I usually avoid/hate palace intrigue themes)
You know what's wild. If Shiqi had let his father, who hates him, die at the hands of Sun jing, then, his brothers…
One of Shiqi's hang-ups was to get his father's approval (for himself & mother) hence his being hyper filial. Otherwise, well, it's not like he was close to the rest of the family and he didn't want to compete for the throne, so he should've stayed at Laolan Pass enjoying himself. why bother to go anywhere and defeat anyone 😂
From a male's perspective this show is quite attractive. There's like a harem of pretty girls surrounding the…
Harem of pretty girls ... that's false advertising...that is 😀 I totally agree with weak antagonist being the biggest problem. I honestly can't think of a guy who would behave like that after dropping back to high school. Even if my OCD/purpose was to bring down whatever family ... no...it's not how it would go down 😂
I know what you mean...but if you watch it on Viki and you will find that it's so good as the one on Viki has…
haha. i dont have ocd but i still rewatch quite a few scenes from this often. aprincessfrommars dvd edits definitely helped. without it i'd still be going like wth...how...when, etc., but you say editing wasn't an issue so i guess just not your thing.pity.
haha. it's actually a good thing. their strategies are clever per se. but the cool part is that the other side thinks the same...as in the premise "great minds think alike"...
In earlier episodes they don't know each other so they just take best possible option given the circumstances, so they don't consider how the other side thinks. Hence, they don't really compete against each other. Although, the part when she was taking grain to the city and her army turned up... that was pure luck (as far as story goes anyway)

If it happens I'll say he is a fantastic actor. It takes some talent to make me hate a character so much 🙄 but I hope I'll prep myself beforehand and will just roll my eyes.

Well CDL was awesome no doubt. As far as Mofo I'm kinda at odds. At first I thought "he was better as Mofang"... all things considered...😟 "Revenge" is not my genre so at times I felt like I was forcing myself. but, as the show progressed and the story took that turn. I started to think think "hmm, he's actually doing a good job". Like, it felt appropriate. In any case I wish him well in other projects.
But by jesus, time didn't heal my attitude to him in TLOSL ... maybe next year 😂
In the end crown prince says "How is this similar to the plot of being the richest wife in the countryside exactly the same"... She replies with "because screenwriter is the same person". Is it a real drama she is referring to or is it fictional?
"reverse harem" is a nonsensical term at best. If she's drawn to different people for different reasons doesn't…
Sorry I don't think I'm able to dissociate "many love interests" from "promiscuity" maybe cultural thing.
In any case to use the term "harem" to describe a situation where someone has many suitors is just plain weird ... unless they are in a polygamous relationship.
I don't come across this word irl often so I'm not aware if it has some colloquial humour / connotations so to me this tag is pure nonsense.
The "flying" pig (the pig affected by miasma, sent flying) scene is in ep09 around 10 mins in when they go up the mountain. It refers back to e05. Subs might differ depending on where you watch it.

Cast was excellent and so many familiar faces.

... i thought everyone except me watched it for 1st year anniversary 😌
