Yes! I mean give us some more of school stories, current interactions. They made their chemistry development almost entirely through stares and glances which is honestly hard to buy. I sorta suspected that the Queen had some feelings for prince, but was it based on just him being handsome at school? Were they short on writers?
Your critique is well stated - I do believe some (not all) of your points can be explained by the short, 12 episode…
With 12 episode lengths they could’ve done less filler scenes with stares. In the last episode they had 10 sec of staring every time after someone say something. The Queen says “Your Royal Highness”… and we’re watching 10 sec of camera shooting her and Grand Prince staring at each other. He responds something and there is another 10 sec. I was skip forwarding so much. Actors are easy on eyes, but not like that.
Both fandoms are ridiculous. Both actresses are trapped in “young, energetic, slightly naive but warm-hearted woman” archetypes in roles, and their heroines primary function is mostly humanizing cold male lead. Both are trying to diverge into more complex roles, since they are aging out of this mojo. Zhao LuSi is more successful in it, her Love Ambition and LLTG were more successful, than Esther’s My Journey to You. But they are forced to compete for the same roles. So don’t blame the player, blame the game.
I’m not so confident about this one. Fans are pointing that the video was redacted and defamation lawsuit was…
Based on unredacted video it wasn’t what he said. But anyway, actors have to pretend to be all sort of people, and when they turn famous they get admired by millions, so imho it’s strange to expect high morality from them. This kind of lifestyle surely gets lines blurred, especially for young people. I am always trying to separate art from artist for my own mental health. Most of genius artists across all kind of art were shitty people.
and what about the misogynistic remark he had previously made to a female journalist
I’m not so confident about this one. Fans are pointing that the video was redacted and defamation lawsuit was won, anti fans are saying the video was truthful and winning defamation lawsuit doesn’t mean he isn’t misogynistic. When it’s so polarizing I just skip it. Most people in entertainment business have skewed views on morality and questionable judgement. It doesn’t make them bad at their jobs. Case in point - Timothy Chalamet.
Tian Xiwei is a strong girl herself. Have you seen the clip of her arm muscles? Then there are clips of her pulling…
That dude was like 200lbs naked, plus 50lbs of armor. And she is what - 90 pounds, cause all Chinese actresses are double-digit club? Ok, let’s say she has lean muscles and she is 100lbs. It doesn’t matter how strong she is, physics doesn’t work. Her hands should be moving at 10mph speed at contact to make it work. But yeah, this is fantasy! I get that.
The battle scene was good, but it annoys me so much that they still kept FL slim and tiny. There is no way for her body to have muscles needed to perform at this level.
Came here to say this. It's getting mildly infuriating.
This whole thing about rations and food was so stupid. They built her character as careful and thoughtful, and yet here they are turning her into a reckless fame seeker. It's very out of character.
But they are forced to compete for the same roles. So don’t blame the player, blame the game.
