Yeah, it's quite interesting, completely different from this one. The romance is really toned down and I enjoy the friendships. I find it a nice stepping stone to my next romance drama so as to avoid immediate comparisons with Shadow Love
I'm absolutely loving them 😍 especially Jin An, he’s my favorite! The way he takes care of General Li Shuang…
I'm obsessed with their love. The way they express and prove it in every episode. It's one of the best full fledged love stories I had the pleasure of watching on screen. I've been stack in this loop for almost two months. I keep skimming through other dramas but nth keeps my interest for long
I was quite disappointed with the female lead in the last few episodes. I just feel like she didn’t fight for…
He gave up his title after she left Yao and he never told her. In fact he told his brother that after she does what she has to do in Taijin he hopes they meet again. He didn't give up his position for her. She is one of the reasons but he also felt responsible for the death of so many Yao soldiers.
Uhhhhhh I don’t see how you could skip episodes and not skip backstory? Honestly if you’re bored after 8 episodes…
I agree with Lizzy. If you can't go past ep8 drop it. You really can't just skip episodes. The reason the later episodes and the last arc are the best, is the episodes on the first half of the drama. They build a very realistic, emotional relationship based on true love. Anything else and it would have been lust, or just the blood pact, or a whim.
aw man it started great but around ep 16 it becomes draggy and dull. Such a shame, they should have reduced the…
Everything is meticulously built to give you the best ending ever. You can truly feel the emotional last arc if you watch every episode. Even the ones you deem boring now, have their own special place in your viewing experience. Now keep in mind, this is a very emotional, love centred drama. The politics and the secondary characters are there to move the leads' story forward. If scandal, intrigue and vengeance are you're thing, you'll get truly bored.
There’s so many good dramas coming out. Just out of curiosity, how do yol watch dramas? Do you watch one and…
I think it's either that nth really catches your fancy, or you're going through a time that you need not to focus your mind. I've noticed that whenever I multiwatch dramas I'm going through a stressful period of my life and I need to numb my thoughts, so multiwatching doesn't give me time to dwell on the story. But that's just me
I really loved the final arc, the yearning/heartbreak was just my cup of tea, but I honestly didn't understand…
He is the reason she lost her father and her father wasn't even to blame in the end. He's as guilt ridden as it gets. And he's willing to let her kill him if that's what she wants. She knows he remembers and he told her so (I'm the masked man, I fell in love with a Taojin woman, you also treated me well in Taojin). But she kept pushing him away bc he isn't Jin An, and she's not exactly wrong. He is a prince in a country that has just gone through a peace treaty, an emperor second coming, an empress treason and a prince second coming. He can never love freely. And he knows if he openly acknowledges their bond she will have to make a decision and force her hand. She is in danger in Yao. They want her dead and he doesn't want to make any more trouble for his brother. On the other hand she has to return to Tao. She has to answer for herself and her deceased father, she has to fulfill her duty and she doesn't want to be entangled in a situation that cannot be resolved as things are. They had to separate bc of who they really are, and I'm not talking about their ids, I'm talking about their characters.
There is only one episode for me to finish this drama, but I'm so mad about the writing of the last 2 episodes,…
As I see it, it's a fitting end. He is all 3 people now merged into one. And the Jade Linglong is not a liability anymore as it's in him and no one can steal it again. The drama gives everyone an ending, even the artifact!
When the Prince became "evil" I really didn't like it. It made no sense to go that far. Just for him to…
After the third watch I managed to look at it with a cooler head and this is my conclusion:The CP has lived all his life in fear and when he was given the title he felt that his daddy approved of him. The only other person who did is Li Shuang. So when he realised that he's just cattle for slaughter he turned to Li Shuang, his only constant variable in his life , only to be dismissed. He would have wallowed in his misery and probably died by his brother's hands, had not Jin An tutored him in the ways of the court (this sounds naughty, LOL!). CP's actions then serve a double purpose: he comes to his power reacting like the cornered animal he has always been, thus the whole "I want it all, everything should be mine, I've been deprived too long" attitude (enter Li Shuang, among all else). AND it showcases Jin An's id. He is a prince, he is a schemer, a strategist, a politician and ruthless at that. He was always DAD and Jin An. Had he not a good relationship with his brother, what he advised the CP would have been his actions, too. The episodes of the CP's turning point do not only help the story progress, but they also prep us to do the connection, to accept the transition from Jin An to amnesiac DAD without ruining the flow of his character.
The story is named "With Jin An". He is not another character. He is DAD but without the responsibilities that mask his true self. It is mentioned that he was always easy going and playful until he took up the role of the general.
Yeah still irritated. If the FL had just freaking told him the truth about him being Jin An when he directly asked…
What's the use of saying it if he doesn't remember? She doesn't want DAD. She wants JinAn. Also she said, "if you don't remember, why do you ask?", or sth to that effect. And he never showed her the engravings, he just stormed in and asked a question. How would she know he started remembering? As for the switch no one steps on the platform but for the Empress. And no one is allowed in her rooms.
Wow okay so holy fuck? I am assuming there’s more to the story about the death of the Prince’s kin, so I’m…
That's why the DAD episodes are not that many. Had he acted like that for half the drama he would have killed any feelings she had for him. She didn't just take it though. She tried killing him during the battle and she verbally taunted him like the enemy he is, even though she was tied up. And when he squeezed her palm he stopped when she screamed and he looks confused as to why he did that. He's never totally amnesiac. His soul remembers at times, it's just his brain is stuck to a year ago.
