If you are going for costume dramas only, true there aren't much to explore for now. But some modern dramas are really good like the best thing, the first frost. And many others. For costume dramas, try ren jialun's demon hunter's romance. Though it might not be some hi-fi kind of but still a fair watch
No, very unlikely. Because in MM, it wasn't all CGI actually. They used real buildings, that moon palace was actually a real palace, they just color corrected it if you know. And at all other places as well, they didn't use any fake scenery, just color correction and some additional decorations
This drama is literally something else unlike all common xianxia plots. No more those 'only CGI' demons and gods fights, but it's really a story wherein you don't know what's coming next. I am totally clueless as for how the story will proceed. It's so so much different. And the best part is, even without romance uptil this far, the screentime is never boring, lazy or dragg. Every character is interesting and moreover, scenic beauty is also surprising. Definitely an under-rated drama

I strongly disagree..cinema skills are never about flaunting one thing you got, but showing your versatility. Even if audience is liking for the time being, it won't stay long. I also liked watching him but now since i have watched quite a few of them, i found episodes of heart of stone became my struggle to watch. Henceforth, i dropped it. Bevause, if you get to eat same thing again and again, where's the motivation to eat anymore.

The story is good( different)..actors are professional, cinematography is perfect, OST is also soothing to hear. I just find story was not that strong, and got draggy at times. Coming to the end, it once again gets draggy a little. But overall a good decent watch
