i really hope the screenwriter can change a few things:the ending near the novel’s end, someone says: “会摇橹吗?可愿渡我一程”…
I do not think that is the case for TCJ, he does not work in blind in this point of his career

Personally I don't think TJC would approve of the romance-focused version of the script, he's not the type to accept a role for the number of viewers. On the contrary, he chooses a role he can identify with, complex, with many facets and inner struggles and I have a feeling we won't even see the epilogue.
So, I am with you on this.

Personally I have a different opinion, I hope the novel will be respected (with or without an epilogue).

The fate of the two characters you listed is fundamental to the depth of the characters and the book, transforming them would only lead to an idol, cheesy version ... I don't want to see that, sorry

I'm not sure why, either, as I had him as supporting in my submission, and some of those people listed in supporting…
I had him also as supporting in my submission ... from the minute the official announcement came out (I sent it first and then posted it in the comments). For goodness sake, they choose what they want anyway.
I sent the official summary as posted on Mango and all the other sites and the old version is still posted here. (Tan's fan club have contested this version from day one and they won the change on all platforms)

the novel is bittersweet. you can't call it a bad ending but it's not the happy ending you want either.
You are a sunny person , right ? :))
I was kidding, don't get mad at me :)
Yes, it can definitely be interpreted that way.
I'm a bit darker, I considered the epilogue as a ray of hope given by the author, the kind of cookie sent to the reader, so you don't slam the book against the walls :)

Discussing Xie Queshan is somewhat daunting, perhaps because he embodies the concept of loyalty and righteousness, yet becomes a victim of the times. However, from both a literary and political perspective, Xie Queshan is the kind of character that interests the Chinese people

. The Yu Dynasty in the book is a dynasty on the verge of being ruled by a foreign race but still persisting in resistance. The Bingzhu Division is secretly searching for a way out of the predicament. The main plot revolves around Xie Queshan as an undercover agent, cooperating with Nanyi and the Bingzhu Division, both openly and secretly, to find a way out for the Yu Dynasty and escort the new emperor to the throne. The most talked-about part of the book is Xie Queshan's execution after enduring hardship and biding his time.

Regardless of whether he was saved in the epilogue, everyone assumes that he must die. He sacrifices his personal morality to silence public opinion, which is ironic, isn't it? Analyzing it more deeply, he had to die. The real issue lies in the definition of loyalty.

Xie Queshan was undoubtedly a loyal minister in the universal sense. Conversely, the ministers were dissatisfied, insisting on his death before allowing the emperor to send troops—essentially threatening the emperor. This was essentially a false loyalty to the monarch and the dynasty. They operated within a leadership group, waving the banner of "die for the rebellious minister," using this false concept of loyalty to control the political situation. Simply put, this represents two kinds of loyalty: loyalty to the leadership group or loyalty to the country. Therefore, the person who exonerated him was Nan Yi, who was never part of this leadership group from the beginning. Influenced by Xie Queshan, she was loyal to the land and the nation.

Xie Queshan's death is a matter worthy of deep investigation. In real history, all those who were framed or sacrificed for the greater good have given me this feeling to some extent.

The end of the book without considering the epilogue is ...tragic.
The invitation to cross the river together is theoretically an auditory illusion (she was alone in the boat, with all his martial arts knowledge, he didn't teleport to whisper in her ear). So, not bittersweet, but sad

"Ten years have passed, many good things have come and gone; we've shared the green mountains and the rain."

Worried about everyone's safety, he chose not to be there in person, but he really wanted to be there. The brother who held his phone to his ear to listen to everyone's confessions, the brother who was moved to tears, the brother who asked, "What is love in this world...?"

Xie Queshan had his hair bound with a jade crown and changed into wide robes and formal attire for the banquet—white fabric with cloud patterns, green bamboo embroidered at the collar and sleeves, making his entire person appear even more handsome and upright, with an open bearing.

Nanyi was accustomed to seeing Xie Queshan only in dark everyday clothing, unsmiling and prematurely aged. This was the first time she saw him at a banquet with gentle smiles and pleasant conversation, as if he were merely an elegant young master from a noble family, and she was somewhat dazed.
