Iโ€™m almost done with episode eight and honestly, I wish those afflicted with it except maybe that one cousin…
"she needs to get the hell out of there and to the capital where she could help with more cases". Don't forget she is in QW's body, can't easily say: folks, I'm someone else and that the main family branch is in the capital ๐Ÿ˜

Yan chi is Emperor son?
No, he's the son (and heir) of the emperor's uncle, whose title was translated as "king" in this drama. In other drama translations, close relatives of the emperor have title "duke" or "prince"

Hmmmmโ€ฆFLโ€™s confrontation is a little too reckless, why does the script always have to write such scenes?
Intentional dramatic exaggeration in order to raise tension. Actually, this reckless dynamics and confrontation with QC was in the novel, too. They are not the problem per se (ie. their use to obtain a specific purpose) but in se, how much sense they make, because if they fail their inherent logic, they'll also fail their purpose.
Although overally more coherent and logical than the plot development in the drama (which seriously suffers from bad editing), the storyline in the novel also have quite a few inconsistencies, exaggerations, nonsensical details and all kind of other flows.

It looks like this scriptwriter adapted LLTG og novel better than TCD novel, in this drama he/she left several huge plotholes, starting with Fuling, whose appearence in ep. 1 wasn't elaborated at all. Fuling's character is very important in the novel, that's why the script couldn't erase her, but the drama version - which eliminated transmigration element (while dying, SW transmigrated in the body of QW, the latter revived from a close to death condition, being first strangulated and then drowned in the Qin sh*thole estate) - should have provided a minimum of explanation of the connection between SW/QW and Fuling, ie. of the reason why QW's maid is backing SW's appearence as "her lady" QW. They could have easily put Fuling on the same boat with SW and made them escape the killing together...
Part of the dialogues also suffer (beside the fact all dialogues suffer from typically bad iqyi translation, when will they fix that department?): those retaken from the novel are mostly ok, those added in the adapted script make less sense, aggravating certain plotholes (severing somebody's head is an extremely cruel practice, usually connected with a heavy personal vendetta and hatred, as a murderer wants to express the desire never to leave the victim rest in peace) but in the drama, it looked like he chopped her head for a nonsensical reason to hide the injuries on victim's face (btw, we've never seen her getting injuries - the murder occurred after she was undressed and had consensual sex with her killer).
I also feel poor editing work, certain scenes are chopped, other too long. The editor seems more concentrated on preserving the (good) camerawork (I liked all shots in the mirror and from above) and on providing romantic hints than on preserving the logics of the storyline.
The 2nd case seems less messy, so I'll continue to watch but I'll also be very angry if the investigation storyline suffers and the drama turns into a fluffy idol-romance.

Ye Gods, this is terrible. Overly-dramatic acting, a ridiculously dramatic and laughably silly opening scene (jump…
Yes, the camera is really good,FL is pretty and smart, ML has shown his muscles already after saving her, bgm follows the suspense, but the story is a bit too predictable and editing is definitely lacking, some sequences are cut too early, others are too long or repetitive, a serious underperformance.
I'll continue to watch for now but I agree it's already quite droppable

Title Rose Finch Spoiler
I've just started, too
me2.
I've seen this actress only in that distorted three kingdom drama I've disliked, but, yes, she is kinda born for such cold & unpleasant powerwoman's roles.
FL's hubby is my 1st sus here, what do you think?

you've articulated so well what amazed us all in this drama, this breaking barriers between fictional and real…
definitely.
Besides, by presenting this socio-philosophical aspect better than many other "deep & serious" genre dramas, this one uplifted, dignified, its own genre. The authors definitely put a lot of thought and craft in it and that's why the result is so satisfying

What a great review! I enjoyed your analysis here for this drama.
Thank you, Maybe I've enjoyed this drama so much because of our interactions and pov exchanges here. Finding and decoding clues, guessing, observing (we've all watched it together in a way)... this was a shared experience. Binge-watchers maybe won't have this additional pleasure

One thing is certain. They never got formula of weapon forging...
True.
And sad. It remembers me:
If they've had an external enemy, this issue would be a question of life and death in the drama

Ngl I'm surprised that in the reviews the story isn't a 10/10 when the story was literally the best thing about…
Me too.
For me, the story was 10/10, I've enjoyed all other things, too, but the story was... wow! I'll write the review later (I am still watching) and it will be my first time ever assigning 10 points to a drama.

EP 7 where ethe EP where she wanted to befriend LSL. As she said herself, the ML has plot armor. Sha laid low…
No. It's the FL who has the "plot armour", not the ML. It's the ML who must save her no matter what when she's in danger, not vice versa. It's one of the "rules" the Scriptwriter set which characters can't change.

The only reason why she plots the murder at this early stage is bc. she must get rid of the ML, he gave her an impossible task: to find out the forging method for resistant swords

I agree now. Even if script is not maybe so good for someone lets say... For me its okay good...details are brilliant.…
Yup, details are disseminated all over as clues, just asking "pick me, pick me" ๐Ÿ˜‚
How will we define such details, lol?

So to sum up, it's gonna be:The scriptwriter who insists all the iconic scenes to happen so he can go back to…
A perfect summary.
If I were to add smth:

The scriptwriter who insisting all the iconic scenes to happen so he can go back to modern world AND BECOME TOP-TIER screenwriter. With all the nonsensical garbage he wrote, with his divine (/unhuman) role and rules... ๐Ÿ˜‚
VS
SYM who doesn't want to leave the script world and NH who won't let her go back to her world BECAUSE: 1. IN "HIS" WORLD THEY'VE ALREADY CHANGED THE STORY AND CAN BE MASTERS OF THEIR DESTINY 2. "HER" WORLD IS WHICH IS FICTIONAL AS WELL
VS
CGH who denies to fix himself and refuses the good SML setting, bcs he wants to be the protagonist who conquer the world AND WILL GO UTTERLY CRAZY FOR NOT BEING THE MAIN LEAD

now if many other characters finding out about this script things too, it's gonna be a big showdown tomorrow: IT WILL BE AN OPEN REBELLION, LOL
