The only thing that comes to my mind why would Tencent wish to diminish the popularity of the GotD is its similarity to JoL and the season 3 of that drama which they've promised soon. Must think about it, bc as you've reported (I don't doubt about your truthful report), it doesn't make much sense to me

Sangbo case is XQ's case, it was entrusted to him by the emperor, and was solved by HIM by delivering a runaway Zhou Chixiong to the court and everybody in the court knows it was a great achievement (he accomplished tnx to the n°2, but that's another story, nobody knows how he fulfilled practically impossible task, after all other leads were cut-killed).

If you want to switch the genre (bc Heroic Husband is always a "time travel" comedy), check first Miss S, an entertaining detective comedy set in (very fictional) Republican era. For some reason, I think you'll like it.

I also liked a lot how he arranged and cut the scenes in My Heroic Husband, directed the actors, always maintaining the pace, balancing well between humour, frenzy and sweetness.
As for Dylan, I'm not here for him (although he certainly delivers well the lead character and I am glad he does) but for the well crafted story in high level production

he is great, indeed, but this one is his best directing so far.

MDL's users ain't picky, the fact is that the initial ratings tend to be influenced by people who dropped/ disliked the drama (or its genre or a certain character) in early stages or are simply haters of certain actors or productions. This is why they are usually underrated before they end.
The most seen (and appreciated) by the MDL's users "idol dramas" also tend to be influenced by fandoms in early stages (when they are regularly overrated, only later they start to drop). Although Wang Hedi can be considered an idol, this drama is not of that kind.

The ratings stabilise when the ratio between the votes expressed and "watchers" is 1:3, because the large majority of viewers (like me) don't express their rating before the very ending. The current ratio is about 1:10 with steady upwards trend and, if nothing significantly negatively impacts, the final rating will be much higher than this one.
