FP looks better than MM (bc. the first is centred around a character played by the actress who knows her job) but it's unwatchable bc of the machine translation. Ofc, MM is a higher budget production, very colourful but the plot is... someone will probably like it, but it is certainly not my cup of tea... boring, predictable and so similar to other dozens Bai Lu's dramas I've dropped after few eps. FP has a simple plot, Tang dynasty style is well represented, but I'm afraid the dramaland is already saturated with stories (business oriented and self sustained heroine) of this kind, Jang Zi certainly performed better and more complex roles than this one, returning to smth she has already done gives me deja-vu vibes.
N° 2 is too efficient in capturing - package & delivery included - that Zhou Chixiong villain
you're right, ofc., I know, I was just joking how impressive & efficient she was. Tracing, capturing but above all, that "fast home delivery"... it took just a few minutes, lol
ah, ok, I get it But, to be honest, I've actually only re-posted my answer to another user below which dealt with novel's spoilers. For people not being interested in corruption stories, well, I'm not either, but it is a part of both this game and of the reality. Nobody likes or is interested in corruption, but accepting its existence is part of growth, as well
So, I'll take it as a compliment. ☺️ You are right "there is no universal agreement about what must be considered a spoiler" because MDL doesn't have a specific rule about it. But I'm pretty sure my post didn't ruin anybody's sense of surprise. I don't care about the novel, I'm just watching a drama which works well to this point
Qi'an running around the platform where Yang Qianhuan stood, only to see his face and finally got tired and gave…
you're so right about it. As only male characters can be mischievous, silly, lazy or liars to be loved, we have invented "antiheroes" and "gray characters" terms just for them. But I think this issue is ok now, bc. after the humiliation and loss of her bossom friend, the audience starts to relate better with FL
You summarized perfectly all the issues to be solved. Untill now they carefully followed the storyline with few…
Neither do I. The pace is fast, but till now, nothing feels rushed. And now, I'll put this post under a spoiler: 1. Not all the relevant characters have been introduced, and we've seen proper introductions till now 2. We see the script also dedicates certain time and space to understand and relate better at least with the main characters (how much time they dedicate to Linan's latest feelings and character growth after two blows, public humiliation and loss of a bossom friend?). 3. From the charts, we see that Xu scholar cousin will also have certain "depeening", he'll develop a love interest). 4. The crime cases for XQ to solve will inevitably pop up, it is his task in the game 5. in ep. 25 trailer we see him in silver gong uniform when he meets n°2, Winged Woman, so I guess he will upgrade his skills and will deal with bandits in Yuzhou, so certain issues I've listed will definitely be addressed. We may also see some epic battle but... 6. There will be no time for a radical political adjustment the Dafeng so desperately needs, politics will be probably left for S2, as it was in JoL.
Of course I mind you and of course it matters! ❤️ What I've put "in the open", are "open issues", things with which the drama deals "in general" and we (= the audience) expect it deals. I haven't spoiled the plot (ie. the cases, the characters'actions, thoughts or feelings, turns or twist in their relations), I've only listed issues that can be counted as a general synopsis, a bit deeper and enlarged comparing to the MDL's introductory synopsis. It explained more in detail only THE GENERAL SETTING (which is the setting of a game, because the Dafeng is the setting of the game played by Ying Lang, a player who must solve problems he encounters in the game) without spoiling the ACTIONS (or anything important in relation to the characters) with purpose to calculate if the drama has time (12-13 airing hours left) to solve all this issues.
I disagree with the "current plot will be completed within this season". There are only 19 eps left and so many open issues and plots simply can't all get the closure in such a short time, also because not all the relevant characters have been introduced and we see the script also dedicates certain time and space to understand and relate better at least with the main characters (if you're updated with all the eps, you'll notice how much time is dedicated to Linan's current feelings and character growth after two blows). From the charts, we see that Xu scholar cousin will also have certain "depeening", he'll develop a love interest). The pace is fast, but nothing feels rushed (at least, till now). And there are also the "cases" (which will inevitably pop up) to be solved. If you take all these into analysis and calculate time (12-13 hours) left, max. 3-4 out of 6 open issues I've listed can be fully or partially closed. Probably Yuzhou bandits (we've seen from trailer ep. 25 XQ goes to Yuzhou and meets n°2, as silver gong btw., which implies we will also see a certain improvement in his skills) and some epic battle of "the realm sect" against one or two enemy forces. There will be no time for a radical political adjustment the Dafeng so desperately needs, politics will be probably left for S2, as it was in JoL.
First episode said, Guardians of the Dafeng, SEASON 1. I guess we'll see if there's more.
I've missed that 😁 So we have an additional reason to believe there will be S2. Well, I'm looking forward, it's a great story, no wonder it reminds us of JOL
But one thing I don't understand is that why they are not helping in developing ML skill.
Highly probably. The story is complex, it consists of many subplots and many of them are intertwined or inside another story (sc. "Chinese boxes techinque"), it takes time to develop such a narrative. And that's exactly the reason why such a story can't be ended in one single season
Your summarization skill are great and you are absolutely right about all the points. The crazy thing about this…
Tnx. Yes, that's another point: The Dafeng is the setting of a game, which we slowly discover together with the protagonist, but he still needs to win that game and return to the "reality", lol
Spoiler tag is meant to hide the unexpected things or twists regarding the plot, I haven't spoiled anything (except that the runaway princess used a different artifact, not those beads... which is irrelevant anyways) important. MDL's users of this page already know about all 6 points because they are all introduced in first 6 episodes. Only the dragon appears later, but there's nothing to spoil about it, bc. we still don't know anything about it.
I know nothing about 4 books, but can confidently tell that various plotlines opened till now can't be closed in the next 19 eps.
1. The Dafeng is way more rotten than Hamlet's Denmark. The emperor is a self-centred villain, CP is weak, political forces are corrupt, viscious and permanently ready to backstab political rivals while being mostly useless (or even counterproductive) for practical problem-solving. Common people is bullied and everybody relies on connections or bribery in order to survive. As Wei ("the best fixer") said to the Supervisor: "now, Dafeng doesn't need a fixer but one who can change everything and make a difference", bc. Astrology Bureau, Academy and Guardians yamen are evidently not sufficient to deal with political forces, although they all keep Grand Princess in high regard (being GP the only ruler material in there). 2. We can roughly tell that other (external) forces are even more powerful, although we don't have much details on Eart or Witchers' Sect, on Kuis (lets' remember, it was tnx to Kuis that saltpeter - from which fake silver and explosives were crafted - was excavated) and eventual other mystical creatures. plus the "Southern" enemy states, all of them with allies or some sort of presence inside the Dafeng. 3. Yuzhou county is completely out of control of the central government, it's a reign of bandits fought only by passionate n° 2 who hates officials to the core. 4. The story also deals with a lot of magical artifacts, we still haven't seen the true potential of XQ's saber (nor of the State's Sword), XQ learned only one simple technique (one chop to kill, if doesn't function run away) or how the various skills of the "Realm sect" can be deployed when combined in a serious battle. We don't even know the fate of that bead bracelet, although we now know for sure this bracelet wasn't used by the Pingyang princess and HH to cover their traces (it was another object, a green cup). 5. The secret behind the relation of the cutie dragon (Loong) and the imperial family and how this secret is linked with XQ. 6. What was stolen 19 years ago (when Wei crashed his skills and virility) and who were the thieves - thing that bothers the Supervisor so much? And so on.
Even if the production rushed the story like crazy... no way this story could end in one season.
