honestly, i think the “no more butterflies” part is normal after 10 years. 😭 what feels off to me is how he described her as the reason he keeps enduring his job and as his “compass.” i get that he probably meant she gives his life purpose and motivates him to keep going, but I can also understand why mido ended up feeling like a burden. there’s a difference between “I work hard because I want to build a life with you” and “I endure this because of you.” the intention may be romantic, but the latter can make someone feel like they’re the reason you’re sacrificing your life. so for me, the lack of butterflies wasn’t really the problem, the way namgung framed the relationship was.
