I like the unpredictability of the plot so far, and overall I think there’s a decent build up between the leads, hopefully we get a good pay off. I haven’t seen Lim Ji-Yeon since The Glory, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her in a less serious role, and she does great. Lee Jung Jae is the only thing I don’t like so far. The role would have been better filled by someone younger. Ik his backstory is he was an upcoming actor in the past, but I think they could have gotten someone in their 40’s and still made the backstory believable. I’m also impressed they allowed his mother in the show to be an ex porn actress, I appreciate honestly in the role sex work played in the earlier film industry.

rewatched yanxi and decided to finally watch this… i’m going to pretend it doesn’t exist. it’s sooo stupid. from beginning to end, every character (except wei yinglou) sucked. and i’m most upset that weird little fucker fukang didn’t get killed. the fact i had to watch him parade around my screen yelling he loved her after she was almost gang raped because of him is insane. she should have stabbed him a few more times just to make sure she finished the job. i wanted to see her spit on his grave.

i usually watch ruyi’s royal love in the palace after this one. it’s the dynastic continuation of zhen huan, you’ll notice the similar names, tho in ruyi empress ula nara is seemingly innocent and zhen huan character is evil.

and they also weren’t in a committed relationship, engaged, or married… so??

no they didn’t… i mean he was there with them in the last 10 minutes, and it did elude they might start dating, but it was a very friendly encounter.

the last episode was needlessly drawn out imo. him leaving and her seeing him with someone else was all unnecessary. it kind of ruined the show overall for me, which sucks bc i really enjoyed the first half.

Really wish Woo Jin was the ML… like I really can’t get past the fact that other guy showed so little concern for her after being held hostage in episode 1.

i hope this gets english subs, i can only find it raw :(
