Yeah. Mature romances, flawed characters, realistic fights, adult dilemmas...is what makes a romance. The reason they liked it because people in many countries have just started to discover cdramas. This was dubbed in many langauges increasing the fan base...but those who have been watching dramas for years find it very forgettable except the brother's character. Besides, i hate dubbing in other languages because only Mandarin delivers the emotions properly.

Its bad. The plot is mostb likely bad and cringe but any sh** sells when the PR is this heavy. No wonder he wants to do more serious roles. Even he is sick of this.

Urrh!! This is why I gravitate more towards Japanese adaptations of movies like these. They give a lot of respect to the writers

If this is good ....DON'T ASK FOR A SEASON 2... Kdramas used to be amazing because of only 1 season. This multi season thing is American and it always ruins drama formats

I swear to god ... I am bloody excited for this but IF THEY TONE THIS DOWN...I am gonna throw hands. Why remake a movie which is all about intimacy and lust ...and TURN IT UNNECESSARY TEEN FRIENDLY. Its supposed to be challenging to the actors because the characters are grey and if people think that their fav is ABOVE THE CHARACTER then why choose this role?

I have seen all adaptations of this in every darn language and yet, I am excited for this. They better not tone it down and make it unnecessarily teen friendly. Its supposed to be R rated and the characters are supposed to be grey...not toned down. Its a great opportunity for the actors to play challenging roles

I agree to the fact that Japanese actors are amazing. I also agree that kdrama industry products are mid but the actors are pretty good. Its just that Mainstream dramas are supposed to be like this. The non mainstream korean cinema is good (but definitely not as good as the japanese). Hollywood has gone to the dogs in my opinion. The chinese mass produce a lot of content in EVERY GENRE but its not accessible out of china easily. A lot of it is good and a lot of it is bad. Korea is basically an ally of Big Brother...so politics plays a huge role in who GETS MORE EXPOSURE. Koreans are getting benefitted because of that. Otherwise, i get your point.
As a lover of cinema, I do love the high quality content but this is my everyday guilty pleasure. Mainstream content is for escapism

I think BLAMING MDL for having democratic views compared to the twitter and youtube spamming (where its easier to bully people and threaten them) is seriously going too far. Its a safe space for people who are drama lovers and are more into content than people.
Disagreements with people is fine but ...the platform is such a breath of fresh air because the bots cannot completely take over opinions here. I personally hope that never changes

I guess he tried to make this sacrifice ...to balance out. He will go for non mainstream dramas and movies and balance it off with something like this. In guk also knows that he will have to do heavylifting here ...and will be credited well if drama does well and in worst case scenario, at least he will get exposure because her PR will try hard to trend this all over the internet

You know there are certain people who have AN UNDENIABLE FACE CARD..? This dude has that. Incredibly charming face 😍 but...That does not mean I won't judge his acting performance objectively as a drama lover. So far, he has never disappointed me. In some ways , he reminds me of Fumiya Takahashi except Fumiya is more detailed with his expressions and has a wider range.

Well, its mostly korean and chinese dominated. Its for "drama industry". Certainly not a real assessment of Asian talent in general. Even in China, some of the best talent would be the Hong Kong cinema actors like Tony Leung ...and they are no where in sight in these lists. Its very ROMANCE BASED dramas with recency bias.

Yeah...its liquor mafia. If it wasn't for plastic surgery, alcohol ages koreans rapidly.
