Title Blossoms in Adversity Spoiler
I rewatch eps 1-10, I noticed in ep 7, when HZ was delivering goods to the male Hua clan before their exile, her…
Her father, like her mother has faults. But in the drama, when Hua Zhi's safety was being risked, both were willing to take the fall for her.
When the assasins came and tried to kill her, mom said let me be the hostage instead.
Likewise, when she was being punished, her father insisted that he was the one who brought the silver so she wont get punished.
I feel like father have biased views because of the times and privilege he had (as first born son), but he isnt all that bad.
In the next episodes I think he will get a redemption arc like in the novel.

No one can stop the success of a good drama, in weibo there were hundreds of negative post about this drama, including…
Wow. I can't believe some people have the audacity to call Jingyi ugly. From the moment I saw her in this drama, she is quite literally one of the most beautiful actresses I've seen. And her features are exquisite and elegant.

tbh his good behaviour is even more suspicious for me 😭 i feel like they’re trying to fool us ahah
Because there was a line in the novel when the Emperor kidnaps Hua Zhi and puts her in the palace to interrogate her once he found out about her relationship with Gu Yanxi.
What you have to understand about the emperor is that he is egoistic and doesnt like others threatening his claim to the throne.
When Hua Zhi spoke about her love for Yanxi and how she protected him, it made him extremely jealous that this kind of affection he had not experienced in his lifetime. So he offered Hua Zhi to become his concubine to exchange for her family's return from exile... but she refused this.
He doesnt even like Hua Zhi. He just wanted to control her to do his bidding and the best way to do it is to become "family".
And also because by doing so, he can ensure that he can manipulate his nephew to do his dirty work for him.

Also Hua Zhi was ordered to fix a dam even if it was deemed impossible... because the emperor wanted legacy. So if she were to be in charge of something big, her status in the society should be elevated.

The videos about Hua zhi being made as daughter is not true at least from the book perspective.

Oh wow this is a great pairing. Let's manifest together!!
I have seen the behind the scene of jingyi and grandma and it is even better. Her and Wu Lei are empathetic actors and dont need big expressions to make a point.

Zhang Jingyi's crying scenes are gorgeous.
Can I manifest her and Wu Lei to do a drama together? Preferrable costume drama.
They are my fave criers in cdrama and they are of the same age. I cried buckets in these episodes.

The evil lady in ep18 is the only daughter of Madam Hua. She is so insufferable.
Watched the episode today, you are right. Daughter number 2 is kinder at least.

She's really good and I like how she is trying different genres. I want to see her pair-up again in a light Rom-Com…
That is a good attitude. Watching her actually feels like I am watching young Zhang Ziyi. She has that magic in her eyes that attracts viewers to look only at her.

I think it did a great job in adapting the novel. Hua Zhi is really understanding and I'm glad they didnt differ…
Well in the novel, they just had to do it to protect each other and their families. It's also because of the emperor, rebels, etc. However, they are still loyal with each other. I love the novel coz the male and female leads are mature in their relationship, family and other stuff.
Plus when they are together they are still as affectionate as ever.

The evil lady in ep18 is the only daughter of Madam Hua. She is so insufferable.
I am curious if Hua Zhi enters the palace as:
A. A palace tutor like in the novel
B. Emperor's woman (there was a line in the novel that alluded the emperor offered Hua family to return in exchange for this but Hua Zhi refused)
C. Other reasons: _____

The heroine's costume have different arcs. The drama is so fast paced which excites me because there are still lots of stories to cover

The teaser said "I regret breaking up with you because I know you were following me".
Then the clip was Hua Zhi returning his mother's engagement bracelet to him. So it means they broke up.

The actor playing the emperor is always the villain in the shows I watched him in, and he does a great job in playing this part.
This emperor is gray now, but he will eventually become black.

Try watching her in Lighter and Princess. One of their love languages is their eyes. Before watching, please read…
I will watch that once I am finished with Hua Zhi. I love her calm demeanor and temperament. She doesnt need hysterics to express a point, be it love or anger.

Any novel readers here? Is it keeping close to the original story? If so, please spoil how long will she be pissed…
I think it did a great job in adapting the novel.
Hua Zhi is really understanding and I'm glad they didnt differ much from the novel and they havd communication.
In the teasers, it seems they will break up but because they are protecting each other. Hua Zhi leaves GYX because she doesnt want the emperor to manipulate him because of her.

Person Zhang Jing Yi
She is a diamond. I hope her agency takes care of her. I dont know how such a talent has remained under the radar but she has IT.
I love how she portrays a character without overshadowing other actors.
Some actors tend to make big expressions, but she doesnt have to do that sort. Her eyes do all the work.

Watching Zhang Jingyi take control of this character Hua Zhi just makes me excited of her drama with Xiao Zhan.
She is an actress who I recently discovered and I think she is a gem.
She is very empathetic and acts naturally that is she makes her character believable.
There is also something about her eyes that speak a thousand words when they look at you.

This drama just keeps getting better.
Actors have great acting skills, no dragging of the story. Scriptwriting is topnotch.
The female lead is not annoying (what a refreshing presence Zhang Jingyi has) - so different and distinct from typical Chinese actresses. Everything she does is si natural. Kudos!
I also would like to commend Myolie Wu coz that is a difficult character to portray but in her hands, it becomes relatable.
We are just getting to the climax part.
I cant wait for this and I wish more episodes will drop each day.
