People need to understand this this drama isn't really a romance. It is a tale of abuse and a woman being trapped by a genuinely much crueler king than people think. Look up some of the real history this story is about. Sadly, the drama portrays the king more sympathetically than what even happens in real life.

Finally broke down to try this and it is yet another toxic romance. Why idol dramas why.

Yeah just is how a lot of Cdramas are. They tend to gravitate towards one character and leave the other behind.

Why did the female lead become so pointless the farther the story got. I would say early this show is quite fantastic but like most idol dramas it falls apart as it goes.

China themselves are working on humanoid robots too. So, while it seems a bit out of place it is a real reality that could and might happen. A shop for killers always tried to put in some weird technology.

It depends on how the robots are implemented to me. The robot dog in season 1 worked great and is real military equipment.

Tried to watch it on Catattack and the website tried to install something on my computer. Alas I guess I will never watch this.

Any way to watch this without the episodes split into parts. I can't ever seem to get invested when an episode is split like that.

I don't make a lot of comments and there was quite a bit I liked about this drama getting 22 episodes in but why does every Cdrama I have ever watched self-destruct. You expect me to continue rooting for the main leads after episode 22 and 23? How can I go from loving Simu to finding her to be abusive. This could have easily been the episode to finally push their relationship forward and instead it turns it into something incredibly abusive in my opinion. So close to perfection all to be ruined. Cdramas love justifying abusive romance don't they.

Genuinely one of the worst dramas I have ever watched. Do yourself a favor and skip it. I never say that.

That was one of the greatest aspects of season 1. The thing I have been excited for years was seeing their relationship again. Sadly, like most Korean sequels it seems destined to crash and burn.

While I hope it is still good my hype is completely gone. This is absolutely insane to happen to a show.

I do plan on trying those at some point. They don't seem to be very satirical though. What I really liked about Family Matters is how it takes normal tropes and turns them on their head. It is a show where nothing is as it seems. It does a good job at subverting the typical Kdrama tropes.

As a super fan of this is it truly a common story? If so recommend me ones that are like this show with a similar dark comedy satire mixed with weird torture scenes and strong family bonds. I genuinely would love to see more like this show. None of the recommendations on MDL seem to capture the weird vibe this show has. I love stuff like Moving and A Shop for Killers for examples of the recs, but they don't feel similar enough to this show.
