Title Reclaim
Well I got to watch 8 episodes but now I can't even continue past that. Sometimes it sucks trying to find thai shows.

Misunderstandings abuse and toxicity, this is why I can't stand Cdramas sometimes since they tend to glorify this stuff constantly. Shame since I like both of them acting wise. Chemistry isn't everything to me. I wish we could get real complexity rather than just relying on the actor/actress to be hot, so people ignore it.

You can have flawed characters without making the relationship literally impossible to root for. This almost feels like a short drama with how the characters are written. Guess Cdramas tend to just not be for me.

no one explained things to her.. they only told her repeatedly to stay in one place, which was good enough, she…
Yeah basically they keep her in the dark and don't communicate and since she doesn't know or understand she makes choices that mess things up, but only because no one ever communicated with her. It is the curse of these Idol Dramas.

Watched 5 episodes and all the mic peaking is a bit hilarious (though I prefer that then something being dubbed over) but other than it being low budget it is quite good and so far, both Pat and Fresh are really great and the highlights so far.

The drama trope where one character keeps an important secret (sickness, poison, curse, whatever) from others,…
I might try When Destiny Brings the Demon too if it doesn't lean to heavily into noble idiocy as that is one of my least favorite tropes since I personally find it to be very toxic and basically abusive as it almost always leads to the lead being lied to, to suffer for literally no reason. I don't mind secrets if it is complex and the characters are in a situation they have to, but when it is so clear that lying is just making things worse sometimes, I can't handle it.

I wish I could see it that way. I just can't stand the let me stab you with no communication and lie consistently. It is an extreme lack of miscommunication leading to someone suffering.

The fact they did this incredibly early I can already see it happening again in the future but more drastically. Then the show will say it was for her own good or he had to, all to justify his actions. It is such a classic trope I can't handle it as it glorifies abusive relationships.

The whole lying to your partner by harming them and then being a character with a tragic backstory justifying it is just both lazy writing and toxic and I am a bit burned out on it happening in Cdramas.

The AI edited video which Kusanagi shows to 'Q' that 'J' is killed by Jin Man
As someone who really dislikes ai generated stuff is this a narrative device where someone is trying to trick someone and is using is as technology? I am just curious as I am pretty much avoiding works that use it like Agent Kim did for a long action scene.

Title My Dearest
Just finished episode 6 and while I loved the war time stuff the romance is really grating for me with such a lack of communication it isn't funny. I might continue but I am super on the fence. It does such amazing things and then makes me want to explode from anger and frustration and not the good kind. It uses the exact tropes that most romance shows use and they are the exact ones I hate. Such a shame.

I think a lot of the older xianxia dramas have this theme. As the other commenter said- “Moonlight Mystique”…
Yeah for some reason Xianxias love this theme.

No worries sometimes text can be hard to understand. Sorry if I ever came across poorly either. We all enjoy what we enjoy and honestly, I am just a picky soul.

Yes, like those. It is a constant in these Idol dramas to do this and ask the viewer to just ignore logic. Some handle it way worse than others, but I have just been burnt out on it happening.

If you are not willing to be civil and respectful it isn't worth having a discussion. Relax a little bit and understand not everyone shares the same viewpoint.

I think you might be taking my opinion above a bit to personally and seriously. If you truly enjoyed it, I am glad for you and I won't try to take that from you by starting some terrible debate that would go in circles.

All of his constant lying and then the show just going oh it is his trauma is just too annoying for me in most of these type of shows. It lets usually the male (but can be female) lead get excused of their actions by making the other feel sorry for them. Which makes the relationship feel manipulative and weird. Some dramas do it even worse than this one, but I have been so burnt on this trope that when I see it I kind of peace out. There are times it can work but more often than not it just frustrates me.

The problem is when something starts so toxic for me it is difficult to root for them to get together.

I randomly stopped watching that a long time ago but I did enjoy it fairly well. Are there any more like it?

One day I will find a Xianxia that doesn't involve a male lead lying to the female lead for their own "good"
