I'm so glad the drama is letting Changyu and the Marquis take their own paths for a few episodes. That's really missing in most dramas these days. I'm glad the leads of Pursuit of Jade aren't foolishly dependent on each other by being attached at the hip.
I really enjoyed all the moments Goo Hae Ryung had with the historians and other side-characters when I first watched it a few years ago. The romance didn't convince me, though. Maybe it's time for a rewatch to see if my taste has changed.
Long accidental rant, if you are fully enjoying this show, please do yourself and your mental health and further…
"Why do they keep writing these simp MLs and cold and distant FLs that only care about their own goals?"
If only Zhao had a goal. Cause what does she even want? Allegedly, go back to the valley, but she's doing a horrible job. I think rather than cold and distant, she's just fickle and that gets exhausting because there's just no growth over 30 episodes.
ive been watching pursuit of jade and coroner's diary so everything is getting jumbled up in terms of names...the…
The man in black is pulling the strings of the demonic sect but his plan seems to be to bring chaos to to the sect world as a whole. Yes, he is the one who slaughtered the Chang sect.
The skin-painted demon was involved with Pingshu. Zhao's Master is definitely lying to her about how dangerous the "demon" was due to his own jealousy and prejudice. A lot about him will be revealed in the other episodes but the full truth might never be known. Except if there is a connection to the man in black? Just musing here based on up to episode 31.
Right, I felt so sad for her. Her story is heartbreaking. After she escaped him, her family didn’t believe her,…
We literally see him kiss her even though she denies him and doesn't respond to his kiss. Then it's just framed as "oh there is an exit to the labyrinth, so they must have lived happily ever after."
Ok ok ok ok, Episode 6 has the coolest ML (re)entrance ever. Love how thrilling and fun the FL and ML clashing is without one of their martial arts skills having to suffer for it.
Approaching the end and the scholars are such good side characters. I haven't cared so much about side characters for quite a while. And Mr. Bai---both the actress and the actor are also such a great part of the supporting cast.
I had such high hopes. The premise looks so cool, and the FL being fox like while the ML is wolf like would have made for a great scheming drama in which they come together against their enemies, instead it is as illogical as you say here. I thought it was bearable at first because there are so few dramas which think about logic enough but it turned too much too quickly. I knew this was over the second I saw the guard survive, but I still held out for a little longer.
I was going to respond to the idea that He Yan “doesn’t accomplish anything and is always saved by men,”…
I agree about He Yan (have watched up to Episode 13). She clearly gets hurt a lot, which I do think is a bit questionable given she's technically back to prime form, but she actually gets to defeat and kill her opponents herself, which often isn't the case for many Wuxia FLs. Xiao Jue picks her up afterwards, but he does not do the fighting for her.
