Yeah, I understand what they are going for but I feel like it would have landed better if they hadn't already nearly victimized her twice just to let the ML have savior moments. It wouldn't feel as hypocritical. It's not enough to make me drop it (since as the viewer we know her feelings) but I still felt the need to complain.

I will at least give them brownie points for her being the one to initiate the kiss (well, after first pushing mr.pushy away).

Currently watching ep 5, and I can't help but feel the narrative cognitive dissonance when they had multiple guys be creepy towards the FL and those guys were treated as creeps, but then the ML her saying no, and still phsycially goes after her even after she pulls away. It's not unique to this drama, but It's just frustrating to see the "consent isn't actually valuable. its not harassment or assault if its the ML" trope again

There is bad editing well after the 1st two episodes lol.

Man this show has some terrible editing. Not just the scenes with the ex (I know that situation wasn't intentional) but a lot of other scenes feel super choppy. Sometimes characters feel like they teleport and there are sometimes very strange continuity errors.

the ending of the 2nd episode was surprisingly satisfying. you could kinda just watch the first two eps and consider it a mini drama/movie with an open-ish ending lol

was looking at Crystal Liu's page and saw this. i don't understand why MDL keeps listings like this up. at least remove the actress from the cast list until things are actually announced/in progress. so annoying when actor profiles (especially c-actors) are littered with these type of listings.

If anyone is bored, can you give me a recap/summary of the first 20 episodes? It's been so long since I watched it I don't remember a lot of deatils. I do want to finish this but I don't want to rewatch the whole thing just to do so.

Blossom got around it too. In that one FL had a vivid dream but also receiced a book that had major events and stuff in it? ultimately it was pretty straightforwardly a rebirth story which was surprising. Maybe this one will also use the dream excuse.

it's not even the abrupt ending that bothered me, it was them killing off the ML's right hand man servant guy for no reason right at the end. especially cause they made the ML look dead, so the servant takes a killing blow, then ML is back on feet? not as bad as how the double did it but there's no reason for it other than to make things feel more tragic.

Yes I know, I finished the show. I said I wish they had explored it more in depth. It was basically just mentioned in passing at the end.

I mean obviously the conditions are not what she is used to & i would struggle too, but I was talking about her being outwardly rude towards people who have no obligation to help her lol

like wow girl you listened to the mom and son's entire convo about how theyre struggling financially but then immediately turn around and badmouth them to your friends and the place giving you shelter & calling it a dump...

on ep 1 and I like the FL is very flawed to start with and that she isn't a happy go lucky angel, but man her classist/stuck up personality is going to be a little hard to sit through so I hope she at least quickly learns to not say things out loud. I assume it will get better but.. 😅

i think it's really funny in these xanxia dramas, characters will slit open their wrists just to squeeze out a few drops of blood. talk about inefficient!!! a wound that big for so little blood. just prick your fingers or something. or is their blood just that thick? get these immortals some aspirin.
