Dude literally got assaulted tf. Why didn’t he confront that shit. I wish Jin at least tried listening to him…
I believe Akin didn't come to terms with it yet, so he couldn't actually explain anything to another living soul yet. Just bad thing at bad time. Happens. Definitelly not fault of any of the two.
its a shame with that rape they ruined the series, it's so sad 😢
No, they actually make it for adult audience as suggest the setting of the series. They might ruin it if it happened between MML1 and MML2. Which didn't, they keep that space very respectful.
!SPOILER ALERT! /exasperated sigh/ There is this amiss notion that if you have a BL, it has to be explicit. That’s just not true — and A Shoulder to Cry On (2023) proves my point.
Storytelling-wise, it is superb. It's rare to find something this meaningful and impactful in the sea of BLs. And yet… here come my next words: it's truly exhausting to know, three episodes before the end, that they never intended to show anything explicit. In the BL world, that’s heartbreaking — especially when you spend the whole final episode hoping they’d just stay friends, thinking maybe that's what we're seeing, only to realize: nope, they just censored everything that was meant to be there.
There’s also that classic effect where the side characters end up more prominent, more important, and just overall better than the main ones — especially when the genre blends with others. Sadly, so many — if not 90% — of BLs should be grateful for the existence of bromance.
Because once the cast and crew don’t have to worry, they can actually do their jobs. They can entertain. Explore. Experiment. Heck, even flirt. Right, The Devil Judge? I see you. (Or should I say Word of Honor? I’m staring you down.)
If A Shoulder to Cry On had been marketed as a bromance, like Kei×Yaku, we wouldn’t be forced to downrate it just because of that awkward last episode, right?
We all knew it would never deliver anything from the BL department — and that’s fine! Not everyone can give their full 100% to everything. But next time, can we not label it as BL if it clearly isn’t?

Well, socioculturally and geographically, it is predestined not to be. If it were, it would only not end well. Do i internally need that level of condependency? Right now, no. In a few years? Who knows. Was it a big deal to me when I was younger? Yes, it was. So is marriage and divorce a serious matter to me? As well, i would agree with conclusions of inmyrare down below. If something doesn't sit well with you, I wouldn't search for the problem in you or in the show, I would just say - change the program. Either rn or as a worldview there might actually be something you not gonna like or stomach in this series.
I know it's just 4 episodes out, and we don't know the entire story, but why do I feel that this drama is giving…
geez, after this comment i acutally need to start watching it. but no matter the perspective is is gonna be a result of perspective of korean society (either in tune of the current opinion or laughing at theri current opinion) versus drama's message (if the auhtor is pro or agains it and what did they experienced more - bad or good things out of it, and then it is either in tune wat they experiencred or a reaction to that experience). As this one is comedy, i would expect such approchat to the topic and expect expressed hyperboles, and so, there is no reason to express anything seriously. Plus, is marriage and divorce really a serious matter to you? If so, you are probably not watching suitable genre. Or, from the other side, they are just showing you very extreme cases for a purpose.
😁🤣🌹As I expect it is going to take me longer than the length of the episode to finish the first episode, and I have things to do tomorrow, and I am not available at the time it's going to air, it is gonna be very interesting when and how I finish the first episode. I would crack myself not watching it unless it is aired or significant portion of it or at least a portion of it’s aired however there is really nothing to watch, sooo, yeah:D
TBH, i am mostly only BL audience, but on top for me is a good chemistry/interesting characters. So if i watch something out of it, it IS SOMETHING - at least for me. I was insanely surprised how good some of philippino series are - as i watch their production marginally too. But I am insanely grateful for its existence as every asian country has a different vibe to what they produce and I love all of it, all the differences and some of the similarities. I would love to help you watch something, but as i myself am lagging behind even in my niche and genres, i might just sight and share the sentiment. But then again, i am only just absorbing the fact the series i was looking forward to and checked out several times in the last months finally dropped they are gonna air and i only found out like days before the release date. 🥳 So absorbing i do enjoy currently, it even douses the dissapointment for i thought the first ep should be today but obviously it should be tomorrow? Still, so happy for it...
