Typical kdrama with a typical story

I don’t know which lovely runner everyone else is watching because the one I am watching is just a mid and typical kdrama story. I don’t understand what was soo good about the show !!
First episode showed a lot of potential which went down the drain just after a few episodes because there was nothing much to look forward to..
Time travel become a game( try try again) and sun jae died soo many times it wasn’t even serious anymore ? made me laugh the third time he died and that scene was in slow motion like wtf. Totally killed the serious vibe.
The female lead got on my last nerves, she was soo annoying ( forced attempt to be cute). Not to mention her dumb explanations, she was in her 30s and time traveled to her 18 year old self but acted like 15 year old. Soo much could’ve been done with the time travel plot but we got soo little. And the character development was nil.

Kdramas at this point have become soo repetitive with the same plots and storylines. Its hard to keep watching after few episodes. And the story gets too predictable just as with lovely runner.

Heartwarming and hilarious

I am glad i followed my instincts and watched this drama. It’s hilarious and sweet cutesy. Maybe because i haven’t watched many historical kdramas,i find the story quite unique. But for whatever reason i enjoyed it. I believe the ratings don’t do justice to this drama.

There are 5 side love stories along with the main couple’s lovestory.. And I have to say they are all adorable stories and the couples are young and naive. Although I am not satisfied with the elder sister’s pairing with prince but I can overlook one couple. Overall the drama had such a good vibe, it made me wanna go live in that time period as love use to be pure and innocent . I enjoying the 2nd spinster sister’s story the most.
I haven’t watched a kdrama that shows romance story between widow and widower and that too in joseon period. Hence it was a unique concept and super hilarious. Rowoon did such a good job here . Loved him as lord sim Jung woo, his expressions were soo cute. Although I wasn’t excited about the female lead at first but she did well too. Her expressions were cute and she is a loveable as well as an inspiring character. Their romance is slow paced yet makes perfect sense.
The writer did a good job keeping the story light hearted yet also giving us tear jerkers. The plot was exciting, sentimental, hilarious, romantic yet unpredictable. The message is to give love another chance.

A village that represents peace

I loved the concept of a peace village and a secluded community with South and North Koreans.. But this beautiful concept wasn’t executed well into a story. All the events happen in an underwhelming way. It was hard to pinpoint the moment when the main leads fall in love. Cuz things happen either too slowly or too quickly. But even with all the pitfalls there were some sweet moments that captured my attention and i wanted to finish the drama for the sake of the lead couple.
Even with the poor writing the lead couple had good chemistry. They did well and I find them adorable together. Definitely their love story could’ve used more intensity and depth because their relationship is complicated. Yet the new actors did a good job.
The drama’s intro is beautiful and nostalgic.

Tale of dedication and determination

This show is absolute gem that i found after months of starting new k-dramas and then dropping them because i lost interest. I got attached to the characters within 10 minutes of the show. Mr. Han and the real nam-do-san were a treat to watch. No doubt strong cast and familiar faces did added plus points to the show. But the story was no ordinary one, it was for dreamers of a startup.
The journey of Samsan tech boys was full of ups and downs yet it gives hope to dreamers. Nam do san portrays a nerdy engineer with low self esteem yet he isn’t a quitter.. Even thou he wasn’t the guy from the letters but his feelings were genuine and he was persistent in pursuing them. Fortune does favours the brave as he didn’t backed out pursuing his feelings for Dalmi.
Mr Han started with nothing but build a name for himself with hard work. I was sad that he didn’t got the FL. His character didn’t got the love he deserved. That’s the only thing that made me sad otherwise I enjoyed the show.
Dalmi oh silly girl!! she was never in love with the guy in the letters, he was a mere distraction during the time her life was a mess. Hence after finding out who the real guy from the letter was, she never shows interest in Mr.han or shows concerns or even talks about his letters, it bothered me. She made a big deal about the guy from the letters yet when she finds out, Nothing! we get absolutely nothing from her. But I get that too as she was now interested in the real nam do san.
The crux is to follow your dreams and don’t give up. Aside from the messed up loved triangle, I loved everything about the show.

The OG kdrama

Oh god where to start from, my excitement as I write this review is at peak. Loved the story and it was executed brilliantly. I completed the show in 3 days and I didn’t wanted it to end. The story progressed through the episodes and wasn’t stuck in the same loop as an issue with many kdramas.
I like how half of the story covered North Korea and the rest covered South Korea. We got to see characters in both situations.
I fell in love with captain Ri and Seri is such a boss lady. Their scenes together melted my heart. The way he come to find her with scented candle. Oh My God ❤️. The train journey scene was soo beautiful. The way she put her head on his shoulder.
The 2nd lead couple was cool . They deserved a happy ending too. Dan didn’t seem that interesting in the beginning but I ended up liking her and felt bad for her.
Overall I have nothing bad to say about the show because there wasn’t anything that lacked.

Freakishly hilarious

I watched Sound of your heart because i saw a hilarious clip on instagram. It made me want to watch this drama and it didn’t disappoint at all.

First things first: I don’t know why kdramas writers are obsessed with characters pooing in their pants or anything related to toilet !! I am referring to that toilet scene in the first episode and the ML running naked on roads.Even thou it was a funny scene but it made me uncomfortable. Apart from this scene I loved the entire drama, it was freaking hilarious. I laughed soo hard and watched the scenes on repeat many times. I know for sure, i will be rewatching this drama alot.
I loved the ML’s family, his father is my most favourite character in the show. That guy is effortlessly hilarious. The North Korean scene on the bus had me choking.
ML’s brother was also hysterically funny, overall everyone in his family is quite a character. Makes perfect sense that he handed over his diary as comic book. Because their interactions are all soo funny.
The scene where the ML and FL are stuck in the lift is my favourite episode. Gossh it was soo funny. Even thinking about it makes me laugh out loud. This drama made me admire So-min’s acting skills even more.
My only disappointment is that the drama had only 10 episodes and they are soo short. I want more. I want like 20 episodes more because I want to keep laughing.

It was going good until the past connection resurfaced

I really enjoyed the beginning 10 episodes until episode 12 happened, something just went wrong there as a story about characters in a comic book started turning into a past connection story. Even thou it was an entirely different comic book story yet writers still some how forced the past connection into the comic book world. I was soo mad here like Wtf !! This overused past connection trope just ruined the uniqueness of the story. And then comes another overused trope “the amnesia”. Haru’s sudden disappearance and then him appearing in the next episode with memory loss was soo cliche and boring. Then him remembering everything by the end of the episode was also cliche. the story became just like any typical kdrama and uniqueness of the plot was lost somewhere and I couldn’t regain my interest hence dropping it .

The lead couple didn’t had much spark in my opinion. Something felt off about their pairing. The 2nd leads love triangle was more fun to watch . I was shipping yeo joo da with Do hwa rather than nam ju. But Do hwa giving up on Yeo joo da kinda made me sad. The cast was great but story somewhere lost the charm. There are too many plot holes don’t know if they fill those holes later in the show or not. For example why was haru always at school or they never show his home or family( till where i watched).
Maybe i will continue watching it again someday but don’t feel like watching it just now.
