i really liked the show but the message they're trying to send with the ending won't just ever work. no religious community dead set on prosecuting innocent queers deserves a good image because they will never accept them no matter what push. the only way... is the way out sadly. personally would've preferred if both of them just moved on from religion in their own ways rather than caving into it. religious coping is hard to get out of but it is possible. that's the route they should've taken for tanrak. and that's the most realistic ending for most of the queers around the globe. and yes, that is the actual happy ending for them as well.
potentially hot take but this one was kinda the best domundi show thus far. i understand it got mild success compared to khemjira and duang with you because of its slow pace but i really like how they actually tackled queer struggles in this one. definitely was a huge pleasant surprise to me in my watch how serious this show eventually became. netjj's acting performance here compared to the next prince shows how important a good script is for the actors to be able to showcase their abilities. the angst they potrayed was top tier and i truly can't wait for their next role which looks even better.
so far domundi has been 3/3 for me since khemjira. i'm not so optimistic for rest of the lineup they announced in 2025 but the 2026 lineup looks top tier and i genuinely can't wait until we start getting those shows instead.
dmd is progressing amazingly. compared to other production companies, i haven't seen series selection for actors this good in my life.
at first i was a bit torn on this but then they showed homophobia being central to the plot and i immediately fell in love with this series. kengnamping are definitely best suited for serious shows like these.
"Khemjira was the most-trended BL of all time, the BL with the highest viewership on ONE31 in the late prime time slot, and the most-watched Thai series in the world on iQIYI."
oh gmmtv don't make that face. love dmd for pushing as much as budget they can for their bls. they're gonna leave other production companies way behind if this goes on.
tbh i wish they just dropped half the episodes now and half the episodes in a week or two. doesn't make much sense to drag out a small series like this.
Now I know why bl fans don't deserve ticket to heaven they have no problem absorbing cringe series with no logic…
welcome to the (sad) reality. i love those shows too, but BL fans will always hype them up way more while letting more serious shows like these fall into the background. and the excuse they give is always, “oh, but we watch bl for escapism, not reality.”
all i'm gonna say is that gmmtv is so lucky to have p'aof on their side. i really liked the first episode. some of the shots in this definitely have to be one of the best we've seen in a gmmtv show.
if i had to criticize one thing, though, it would definitely be the pacing, which felt a bit all over the place. i would’ve enjoyed a more drawn out intro sequence before things started picking up. the world of the show seems very interesting, so i think introducing that first slowly and then easing into the characters would’ve been nicer. i wasn’t going to complain about no of the episodes, but now i actually might have to lol.
The person who commented religion should be separate from BLs is why I’m a bit worried about this show. I don’t want GMMTV to cave in and try appeal to those people and paint the overall message as if certain religions aren’t a source of the problem.
Entertainment is not always just escapism. It can take the form of Pop Justice. It can go beyond and make very important statements and raise awareness on topics. This is why I’m betting on this show to be really good so it can leave out a very important message out there.
this will be my second thai bl since fish upon the sky.. i hope it’s goodddddd (im in desperate needs of recs…
some very recent thai bls i can personally recommend. look at the trailers for a few of these and just go for the one that seems to attract you the most!
romcoms - me and thee (same cast as fish upon the sky but the comedy actually delivers this time) - duang with you (sweet nonsensical romcom)
mystery - khemjira (the most popular thai bl last year) - goddess bless you from death - spare me your mercy - 4 minutes
more on the experimental side - shine - gelboys
these are the bls everyone will recommend to you: kinnporsche, bad buddy, not me, last twilight, and i told the sunset about you. these might seem a lot but trust me there's many more great thai bls that i havent even listed there. clicking the gay romance tag and sorting the shows by top rated might be a great way to start. i always decide what im gonna watch on a whim by checking the posters lol.
really love it when popular actors do BLs. makes me reflect how far the genre has come. the teaser was just a pure visual feast. acting seems pretty great too. very excited.
Can someone recommend me more series like this, I am an avid bl watcher so only recent ones please.
recently released feel good queer media ive enjoyed: this is i, me and thee, fake fact lips, love upon a time, love you teacher, contrast, and school trip: joined a group i'm not close to.
I think I am getting too old for this childish nonsense, because I was falling asleep few times per episode even…
we really can't dictate what people enjoy. the bl viewers on here (and in general) definitely prefer light romcoms over more complex and serious plots. don't get me wrong, i actually did like this show and found the ratings were pretty justified but i do find it sad when good mature and complex bl stories get much much lower ratings.
people overhated this show imo. it was actually pretty good. i feel like this show was really bold and proper executed the premise it sold us on. could it be much more? probably. but it was far from bad.
it's just sad when you see more generic bl shows being highly rated whereas this one that actually experiments is rated... like this.
deserves way higher ratings imo! the show does start off a bit boring but when the pieces start to connect, it really makes for an intriguing watch. but i also totally get why this show has so many polarizing opinions because you really have to go out of your own way to connect the dots and that can be annoying when you want a rather straighforward watch.
on a side note, i've kinda noticed that beoncloud shows don't tend to get much higher ratings here which is a shame because i feel they always push for a unique take on the genre everytime.
so sad that this went under the radar of so many!! i just love it when two extremely talented actors get hired to do a bl and for an extremely interesting plot such as this one. after seeing jj in diary of tootsies, great men academy and angel beside me, i was hoping he'd pick up a proper bl role and this show was really a dream come true.
this show definitely managed to become a hidden gem imo.
while i don't agree at all that the trailer looks cheap, i'll just say that it doesn't look as good as i expected too. leaving production budget talk aside, the plot seems really fire. i just hope it doesn't end up feeling a more happy go lucky version of your name engraved herein just to make the fans happy. gmmtv plays safe a lot and i'm really hoping they actually don't for once.

and thats history!
