Title Our Youth
I feel awfully late to this series but I just want to say that fell deep in love with this series and the character 'Hirukawa Haruki'. Definitely a series where I feel extremely devastated after finishing. I so wish I could see more of their world.

I still wish Haruki got proper justice for what was done to him. Him growing to become someone's comfort zone from seeking comfort zone desperately was the most heartwarming outcome though.

I wouldn't say the show was perfect as I think they could do much more with the romance build up but it was still definitely very beautiful in its own way. The lead characters were so darn charming and I think that makes up for any flaw this show has for me. I'm just so happy with how their relationship developed. I'm so glad it wasn't your typical enemies to lovers story but how just two polar opposite boys sought comfort within each other.

The special episode should've been the ending imho. Just a really good message to end the series off with.

I don’t know if I should start this :( I’m not the biggest fan of Nunew and zee… I couldn’t even finish…
the company definitely has the budget and it shows with the visuals but good screenwriting is evidently lacking for all their shows. it's not outright bad but if you're spending this much money on visual production, might as well make sure the writing is perfect as well.

i had the same complaint with your sky as well. it's so frustrating, like c'mon, you're this close to hit the mark.

i really hate comparing but beoncloud are clearly doing a very good job for the mystery bl genre. similarly, i wish domundi would actually upgrade to become masters of bl romcoms as well.

this feels a bit too good to be true lol. the screenwriter behind racket boys and prison playbook, cj enm production backing it and top of that my vixx bias starring in it? just kinda insane.

i'm curious when it'll release though. i just hope it doesn't take forever like heesu in class 2 did.

kan is so freakin charming. i was just obsessed with his mannerism throughout all the 8 episodes.

this show is a gem among many mediocre thai bls we've gotten as of late. sure, it has flaws but it's quite entertaining, feels high budget and doesn't follow the typical bl formula. short but enough to leave an impression.

i never really thought about euthanasia for terminally ill patients before this show and now i feel like i'm a bit lost on what to think about it. the show does show clear and a huge misuse for it but then the point of personal consent to end suffering adds some merit too. i'd love someone to educate me on this as i don't really wanna be ignornant and it's irking me a lot lol.

On Squid Game Season 2 Jan 2, 2025
I think the reason why season 1 worked so well was because of how heavily the character narrative was involved in moving the show along. You got to know the players' backstories and their personalities throughout which got the viewers so invested in them that any dramatic action from them would hit the viewers' emotions hard. It's what made the show psychologically interesting to watch because they purposefully made everyone emotionally invested.

Season 2 always had much more weight to carry that was tricky to pull off with how the season 1 ended. Now there was a proper end goal plot line for the worldbuilding they introduced in the first season on top of a whole new vast cast that needed elaboration on their backgrounds, personalities and motives just like in season 1. Sadly, I think the writing team failed big time at tackling this challenge. They couldn't find the right balance to do all of this which is why the end result feels so lacking. It feels like they want to carry forward with the plot but also flesh out the characters but in the process, they end up doing neither of these until the very end so parts of the show just feel like watching the paint dry. The mid season is the most evident of this flaw.

Still, I think this season's writing shines the best with Hyeon Ju's storyline and it was really enjoyable to watch it. She's such a well written character that's acted out perfectly and I really adore the dynamics she shared with the others. The scene with Youngmi calling her pretty was genuinely so beautiful. Definitely my favorite part of this entire show.

I wish the writing and the marketing team treated this more as Season 2 Part I rather than an entire season. Not only would it align audience's expectations better but maybe the team could make better decisions on the drawing board as well.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed watching the 2nd season but it just feels less of a sequel to a spectacle and more of a rehash that, while fun, was unneccessary. Season 3 will hopefully be the missing piece that will change my view point.

the first season was unexpectedly really entertaining and on top of that this one has a fever dream casting with my fave THEE joss in it as well... so my expectations will be high for this. i still remember how funny it was to seeing many girls being upset to learn that gays can actually get this messy LOL. i totally can't wait and i hope this one is even messier.

i won't lie, i was kinda hoping mond would get a role here considering how viral his scenes in the first season went. they got him a bl role in a fluffy series instead smh.

i personally think boston will be a very minor role acting as a bridge between the first season and the second season and will just give a sense of contuinity even with an entirely different cast.

i think this might be my favorite bl/gay romance show ever. this show is just so so beautiful and raw. real amazing cinematography by the directors and the actors totally killed it. it's a shame that they couldn't bag netflix to air this because a show of this quality definitely deserves such a big audience reach. it's quite a well rounded show in my eyes: light hearted comedy, angst, sadness, heartbreaks, romance, friendship and so much more.

my favorite part was definitely the second arc that introduced go young's mom and yeong su. all of it connected in such a brilliant way that i still can't get over it. the scene at the park with his mom is peak cinema.

this is definitely a show i'll sureshot recommend to everyone. this, 4minutes, and spare me your mercy really makes me, an early days bl fan, happy to see such high value production shows for this genre coming all in a single year.

just finished my watch and i really liked it! it got a bit boring at times but overall it was a fun watch. chan…
just to be clear, i know this isn't the case with every single mainstream actor (such as han sohee recently doing a girls love role) but these actors very brave and more about art rather than caring about the bucks (mostly because they're way too established outside acting already). some other mainstream actors who heavily depend on these roles to earn money are very unlikely to do that.

just finished my watch and i really liked it! it got a bit boring at times but overall it was a fun watch. chan young is really a great actor. finding out that the main character actually went through bullying because of homophobia is a bummer honestly because that would've actually added so much to his character and honestly i do feel iffy with the team now myself...

and yes while it is sad that they had to remove this aspect for mainstream success, people need to realize that no team of a mainstream actor or the actor themselves will agree to their actor or them being in a gay drama that will hinder their reputation in the current industry scene. it's not that they're necessarily homophobic, it's just really hard to stand up for something when more than half of your country's population is against it. these people's careers depend on the very same public's perception. my only advice would be to just ignore this show if you really hate that the team picked mainstream success over representation for the minorities. you're only giving it publicity and more success by talking about it. it'll in fact just damage the korean gay community even more because the majority koreans will just hate watch to prove a point.
