It’s been that way for me as well….. I try to read books between series so that I can watch but end up watching on 2x or skipping major scenes coz they’re boring for me

I don’t watch shorts or scroll insta but I still have this problem where I can’t get into any story…. There was a long slump this year…. I forced myself to watch PoJ a month after it completed, didn’t even try watching most series for a few months before that…. I would look at the on air series and nothing interested me…. I called it the slop season coz it’s happened last year also where the series I would like to watch isn’t releasing and I blamed the whole industry for releasing only a particular genre… I couldn’t watch any Korean series after the standard WLGYT set….

I felt the same way…. I don’t know anyone who would put their neck on the line for someone that clearly hates them…. Why waste your energy in such a place?

Ig that’s to make sure the audience knows he’s attracted…. If he were to act normally, a certain demographic of watchers in quick to say there’s no chemistry between the leads…. They also show the ML in a very sensual manner…. That is also to attract the very same demographic…. I may or may not belong to the group😉😉

I agree on a personal basis…. I just prefer to watch and not scramble my brains as to why someone in investment banking has to plan a gala….. I feel movies and series have a hard time portraying many professions, it’s easy to have characters do something physical instead of boring spreadsheets…. That is seen as uncool and not fitting of their image. The spectacled guy in front of the computer shown as the average Joe is the real superhero in the investment banking world. No one there has time for cooking and cleaning the house…., if you do both, you don’t sleep.

My point is that the series has a need to visibly show something and it is usually scenes that never happen in real life.

Just realised…… Jun’s house locality (if not the same building) was in Love Between Lines, the hotel for the gala was the same as in Shine on Me…. I know Shanghai just as well as Gangnam or New York at this point(having never gone abroad)


Well… they shoot movies in my college campus and I’ve watched a few of those too so not saying anything shown is accurate……

Moving out will only make any real person more stalkerish….. I mean she basically follows her son around all day…. I don’t like her at all…. But she feels like the character one is most likely to encounter among all the characters in the series though 😅

I don’t like that she’s changing….. I’d like a more radical approach to separate Jun and his hoverboard parents…. He should be more independent thinker… just have boundaries…. Why are they allowed to enter his room, tinker on his computer and phone whenever they like? He’s an adult right? He should act more like it…. It’s not respectful but just lazy of him at. This point

About Jun’s parents….. they are worse than helicopter parents…. They are living his life for him….. I don’t know what the director wants to portray. these parents are irredeemable…. No one changes in their 50s…. I’m reminded of a neighbourhood grandma in my town who allegedly used to peek/listen into her married son’s bedroom to make sure things were happening. The son eventually earned enough money and moved out. The grandma had the nerve to blame it on the DiL for her estrangement with her son….. cringe stuff

LMLMV is more like a cooking and music show…. You can skip past all the drama,,,, I did and feel better for it
