You absolutely nailed it. The "vacuum" point is so crucial, weā€™re judging authenticity based on other manufactured moments, not on actual private life. And the Hunger Games comparison is perfect: those interviews are scripted performance within a scripted performance, which isnā€™t far from how reality TV or even a ā€œcasualā€ Instagram story gets framed, edited, and angled. Even the most genuine-seeming YouTuber chooses their thumbnail, their tone, and what to leave on the cutting room floor. Once you see the persona, you canā€™t unsee it, but too many people mistake ā€œrelatableā€ for ā€œunfiltered.ā€
