It’s pretty hilarious to see FL’s brother being mad she’s stealing “his” military glory and him being the real General Feihong. The evil brother is the one who literally stole FL’s name/title/glory in the first place. 🤣

Good to hear creators seem to be happy. Let’s hope finance people at YOUKU are also happy. Maybe they can lock up YY to a 15-year deal and just shoot remaining episodes back-to-back-to-back…-to-back 😁. And then the final season can air in 2040 yo coincide with last episodes of donghua ☺️😊

Maybe in a few years they’ll be able to feed the script into an AI program that would generate video 😁

Yes, it feels closer to high-8 per MDL standards, but I try to not think too much about MDL ratings (or Viki ratings, lol). My absolute favorite historical C-drama has 8.5 rating here (9.5 on Viki), but we can’t control what others think or what anti-fans/angry fans do (just recently, there was a modern drama where ML’s fans downvoted it because supposedly his screen time got cut).

Isn’t there a comedy series that has thousands of episodes already? In-Laws, Out-Laws (外来媳妇本地郎). Maybe this could be become a drama equivalent to that 🤣

They didn’t film a season season at the same time (not like Flourished Peony and In the Name of Blososm which got split into two parts due to regulations, but were filmed together). This is based on a very, very long novel (and there’s a very long sexual novel), so they wouldn’t be able to do everything in 2 seasons. It might take 9-10 seasons to do everything from both novels.

We all pretty much are being forced to switch to weekly donghua (episode 63-64; free on YouTube).

Just a tiny, tiny bit of romance but it will take multiple seasons to progress. Just think of this drama as having Main Character and everyone else is a supporting character.

If there’s no S2, I hope they start releasing donghua quicker. At this rate it will wrap up both novels in 2040 😳

Donghua is still ongoing (and being made by the same team as the drama). But it’s far from over — it my take a decade or longer to finish up both novels (we estimated 2040).

In the novel NGW had even less scenes at this point (from what others told us). Unlike most dramas, there’s very little romance overall (in the books, donghua, and live action) and — since the novels are very, very long — it will take many episodes for things to unfold and progress.

He dropped to Qi (due to NGW) at the end of Season 1. In season 2 (if there’ll be season 2), he will build himself up and get to Core. I really need to start watching the weekly donghua version :)

“When Destiny…” is pretty good so far. I’m glad I watched TIA first because it prepared me for clans/sects being bad/selfish people.

Drama adaptation also has NGW causing him to drop to Qi stage. Won’t spoil you the details because they may be different from donghua :)

Isn’t 3850 chapters = both novels? Official English translation of the comic (manhua) stopped at 307, but I don’t know if it was ever completed fully.
