He’s so experienced now too and it’s showing through everyone’s recognition of him. He also mentioned in an interview that both the ML and the FL is experiencing first “true love” (as i think they wanted to contrast it to the FL’s puppy love) so they’re navigating through it by making mistakes too.

The directing team agreed, he then washed off his makeup, proceeded to put soot, mud and blood on his face with the help of the makeup team. I agree the ML is the shining point of this drama. To be fair, she did and said some good things too. She also helped the ML regain some optimism, humanity and his reputation; clearing out misunderstandings. By this time, she has also changed a bit, she's not as naive as she was in the first episode, but she is still inexperienced. This drama is fast paced so if you choose to skip scenes then it will be difficult for you to understand the undercurrents. Well anyways, you are free to enjoy it any way you like
