as a novel writer and psychologist I don't agree, in novels this part is called dark night of the soul when the protagonist needs to face its deepest darkest hidden fears and shadows, for FL it is her mother, this last piece is needed for her full recovery... we also do this in psychology if we cannot invite to the session the respective person then we do it using visualisation... this drama is basically about psychological healing... if certain parts are left out the character arc would be incomplete

the granny's story was so heartwarming and touching, and also the actor playing her love was so handsome 🙈 the only male character I liked in the entire show until now

this drama is so funny... after ep4 everything got so lighthearted and fun to watch... laughed a lot and enjoyed it so much... I am so curious if the ML will be able to change enough and end up with the FL

I really don't understand why people associate open minded with promiscuity... they don't even have anything in common...

Chinese mentality is beyond my comprehension 😅but at least this drama stays true to reality 80% at least... laughing at the expense of those who really have to go through this makes me feel mean, but the scenes are too funny 🙈 however I never hear anyone pay 25k euros just to marry someone... I really don't understand why this still exists... making women be viewed as objects that can be purchased just annoys me as a woman

from my psychologist perspective I don't agree with you, they conveyed very realistic how 2 traumatised people act if they haven't fully recovered. Chen Yi has a personality that deeply roots in the false belief that he doesn't deserve anything good, these people hold back themselves and cannot accelerate in love, they usually make one step ahead 2 back, the actors did an amazing job portraying these 2 personality types the self loather and the abandoned one, until they solve their inner problems they cannot have the love you showed with that diagram.

nonetheless this skinny built suits Chen Yi perfectly, in psychology this type of personality we call "poor me"... it is the type who sacrifices everything for others and only eats after others ate enough, causing him to eat little or nothing, this reflects in the body type also, the core of this is self loathing, thinking he doesn't deserve anything good in life, which is not surprising after what kind of childhood he had, maybe SWL lost weight for this also (because in Shine on me he wasn't as skinny as here)
