I love this show but am currently annoyed by 3 things:
1. We are too many episodes in for this level of misunderstanding. They should have talked this out. Come on. It's lazy writing and a lazy trope that isn't needed at this point in the story.
2. Turning her former bestie's brother into a "bad" guy also not cool. His little jealousies are fine, but this is a bridge too far. Unnecessary.
3. Episode 7 preview his bracelet comes a part in the crate. Come on man. Be for real. Lazy writing. Tired trope. No one is gonna go on an espionage mission with jewelry on. Sigh.

Liu Chang is the ultimate wild card b/c he's not just after the Floral Envoy, he's after Prince Ning too. Wild times.

2125 is drama no one has ever gotten over. lol

Ha! Thank you for this. I didn't like episode 9-12 so I was trying to see if it was worth it to keep watching. And thanks to this, I see that it is.

But why is the question??? Whole lot of season left.

I don't really think it's the direction. It's the script. The script is really, really bad. But it's still entertaining, so I'm still here. For now.

I really REALLY dislike the little sister character. That level of stupid just doesn't work for me as a trope.

Well explains how he went from being called "young master" in one scene and was essentially a slave/servant in another as a boy.

Eh. I don't agree with that take. C-Dramas can get loose with the meaning of Happy Ending.

Yeah. I think I'm going to do that and keep watching The Princess's Gambit in real time. Season 2 looks hella stressful and I'd just rather watch the whole thing through than have to wait for the episodes.

Pretty much. lol. The only question now is do they both survive or do they kill off JC and leave our girl widow (assuming they remarry).

The synopsis reads like it's for awhile - and considering some of the physical changes of the Flower Envoy in the trailer it looks like it's a really long time. The synopsis says "he comes back bloodied but alive" and they fight to restore the emperor to his throne.

No there is the synopsis they submitted - they are separated b/c he sacrifices himself for the "greater good" he returns some time later to help (along with Mudan) put the emperor back on the throne.

So does anyone else think (based on the trailer) that Liu Chnag is gonna force her (Mudan) to be his concubine????

My Gawd the subs. Why in 2025 are subs still so bad.

Oh okay. Just read the synopsis...we're dealing with coups and all kinds of palace intrigue - so should be good. I'm here for the villain ark of her ex-husband. I think he'll put prince Ning to shame.
