Seori recognized Cha Segye while he was wearing a face mask in the coffee truck scene but couldn’t recognize…
Yeah, that has been bothering me too. They better have a good explanation waiting for us in the upcoming episodes, because if not, I'm definitely going to be annoyed. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”

Sometimes Seori’s tone and body language make her seem like a grandma. I know she’s from the past but she…
In her mind, she's over 300 years older than everyone in the present day, so it makes sense that it naturally comes across that way. She even talks to Seori's grandma like she's the elder in the conversation because, from her perspective, they're all younger than her—which, technically, they are. šŸ¤”

Kindly let that lady be a grandma; that's part of the charm of her character. 🫶😁

So happy for MRN. ā¤ļøšŸ˜

Lim Ji-yeon is such a phenomenal actress, and it's always a pleasure to watch performers like her who truly pour their heart and soul into their craft, where talent and dedication matter more than superficial factors. She is a star. šŸ«¶šŸ˜

I'm especially happy for Nam Jun as well because he genuinely deserves all the praise he's receiving. The amount of work he put into every breath, expression, and mannerism of Cha Se-gye and Lee Hyeon is remarkable. His acting has been nothing short of outstanding. I really hope he continues to rise, both commercially and as an actoršŸ‘ā¤ļø

We need a new generation of performers who can genuinely act and justify the title of "actor/actresses" through their work, not simply through popularity or hype. I hope we continue to get more actors and actresses like them.šŸ™

Same to you, as always šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£. Every time you comment, you somehow prove my point better than I ever could. 🤭🤪

What's actually dumb is you posting something completely unrelated that has nothing to do with this drama in the first place.

Nobody on this drama page cares about IU or what Heo Nam-jun thinks about her. This is an MRN page, not an IU fan discussion page. If the video had actually been related to the Saegye–Seori pairing or MRN itself, posting it here would have at least made some sense.

But no, people like you always have to bring unnecessary nonsense into every discussion and ruin the vibe for everyone else.

Peak clown behavior.

How's the rating for ep7? I saw it gets like 18%or something
18% is just an unrealistic number. Not that they can't reach it, but in the current landscape where a large portion of the audience watches content through OTT platforms, it's definitely much tougher. MRN also doesn't have the kind of widely recognized Korean faces with nearly two decades of mainstream popularity that can single-handedly pull in viewers. And before anyone misunderstands me, I'm not saying Lim Ji-yeon isn't famous—she absolutely is. But she's still not as well-known among the general aunties and uncles who make up a huge chunk of the TV-watching audience these days. That's why I think a peak rating of around 14–15% is a much more realistic expectation, especially since those kinds of numbers are usually achieved in the final few episodes of dramas that build strong word-of-mouth despite not having insanely famous celebrities, massive budgets, or huge marketing campaigns behind them.

So the verdict is that the drama is doing great if you look at it logically and keep all above factors in mind. The ratings are strong, it's topping charts on Netflix, and the actors, directors, writers, and the entire production team are receiving immense praise and love from audiences around the world for delivering such a quality drama.

I love Segye and Seori, but honestly no one can convince me that Segye and his secretary Mr. Son don’t have the best chemistry of the year. Their banters are on a completely different level. Every scene between them is pure comedy gold šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

At this point, I genuinely need the ā€œSegye–Sonā€ couple to get nominated for Best Couple at the SBS Drama Awards and hopefully win too, lolšŸ˜‰šŸ¤£

Cha Segye is just my type of male lead even though it is so cliche and not realistic at all LOL. Him saying he…
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about him getting typecast at all, especially when his next role, "Haesu" from "The Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid" is literally the kind of role most actors would dream of getting.
Actors usually get boxed when they become more committed to protecting their ā€œperfect imageā€ than actually challenging themselves as performers.

Nam Jun doesn’t really give that vibe to me. I’ve seen his previous works, and he’s never seemed scared of looking messy, raw, unfiltered, or even unattractive on screen if that’s what the character needs. And usually those are the actors who end up lasting the longest because they care more about fully living the role than looking aesthetically pleasing in every frame. They care more about the craft than maintaining some artificial image.

He’s already shown potential through the different genres and roles he’s done before, and I honestly think he’ll keep exploring even more range in the future instead of staying in one safe lane. Though yes, I still need him to keep giving us rom-coms in between, which I know he will šŸ˜šŸ‘.

They won't????? I thought they would be a couple. What about Kang Han Na?
It was my pleasure šŸ˜„

You know what? I’ll give you another little spoiler — it’s not just NamJun’s and Seungyeon’s characters who die. Almost all of the main characters die by the end, except for Ui Hyeon. Even his ending is more of an open ending since nobody really knows whether he’s alive or not.

I’m just really hoping they don’t butcher the beautifully written narrative of the manhwa just to fit or cater to a certain audience šŸ¤ž

So true. I really hope they stay faithful to the manhwa because it’s genuinely one of the most beautifully written stories I’ve read. But honestly, after hearing it’s only going to be 12 episodes, I’ve kind of lowered my expectations a bit 😭 There’s just so much depth, emotion, and backstory in the manhwa that I don’t know how they’ll fit everything properly without rushing or changing things.Ā And please please, I really hope they don’t turn it into some watered-down romantic drama and lose the actual essence of the story.
More than anything, I just hope they keep Haesu’s backstory exactly the way it is because it’s genuinely one of my favorite parts of the whole story šŸ¤ž

So ?
I will clear it for you — the one and only thing almost every character in this story is fighting for is the freedom of their country and their people. That’s the core of the entire story. The emotions, sacrifices, pain, and even the relationships are deeply tied to that struggle for freedom.

They won't????? I thought they would be a couple. What about Kang Han Na?
Oh trust me, Nam Jun’s character is an absolute gem 😘. Yes, he did have a little crush on Sua, but it was never really that deep or anything serious like that. It felt more like a brief infatuation, nothing more than that. Haesu's love for his country was far bigger than anything else.

But what people really need to understand is that his character is actually one of the most important characters in the whole story. He’s basically the brain behind so much of what happens in the manhwa. And his backstory… honestly, it’s one of the most heartbreaking parts of the story. If the drama stays faithful to the manhwa, people are genuinely going to cry watching his scenes. Keep tissues ready because it hurts 😭

Also, I feel like this story/manhwa hits on a completely different emotional level if you come from a country that has gone through colonization or oppression. If your ancestors fought for freedom or suffered through colonial brutality, the whole story feels extremely personal. I’m saying this because my own country has gone through things very similar to what’s shown in the manhwa, so the emotions I felt while reading it were honestly on a whole different level.

Arent there any new actress/actors? Im tired of the same casts every dmn time lol
What do you mean by ā€œsame castā€? Just because these actors are finally getting exposure after working so hard, people suddenly have a problem with them receiving offers? Isn’t that the natural progression for any rising actor? "They were new at some point too". They worked their way up, built a name for themselves, and are now enjoying the results of their hard work. Every newcomer goes through the same process.

By the way, Chae Min and Sang Min still fall under the ā€œnew actorā€ category. And KHY didn’t appear overnight — she worked her way up from being a background extra to a lead actor through consistent dedication and effort. Every opportunity she’s receiving today reflects that journey.

And if you’re tired of seeing certain faces, there are plenty of dramas featuring newer actors — they just may not be the ones dominating your feed. A quick search on MyDramaList shows there’s no shortage of dramas with new actors and will definitely get you out of your boredom.

I’ve seen so many comments calling KSH a bad actor, but why is no one saying the same about Song Kang? Singling out just one of them doesn’t make sense when they’re more or less on the same level. Though I have to say, I did enjoy KSH in School 2015, but after that her performances haven’t really worked for me — maybe it’s the roles she’s chosen. As for Song Kang, let’s be real — he’s literally surviving in the industry thanks to his looks and luck. Either way, let’s wait for the drama. The story and direction could easily change the narrative and work in both of their favor. You never know. šŸ¤”

i was excited for this show as I was a fan of Shin Min Ah's My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. but i am not a fan of Lomon,…
Jesus, what kind of mindset is this?

You are literally disrespecting every actor’s journey by saying such nonsensical things. IU, Kim Hye-yoon (KHY), Byeon Woo-seok (BWS), and countless others all started somewhere. Every established actor was once a rookie. By that logic, no famous person should have worked with IU, KHY, or BWS back during their rookie as well.

Since you said that BWS ā€œgot an upgrade,ā€ does that mean IU is lowering her standards by working with him? She is arguably the biggest star in Korea—no one comes close to her level of stardom. Woo-seok only became famous in 2024 and technically has just one popular project so far, so should she not work with someone like him?

Following that logic, Kim Hye-yoon too should not have worked with BWS in Lovely Runner in the first place then , since she was already more established than him in the industry. And taking this mindset further, does that mean all established and famous actors should stop working with newcomers and less known actors altogether? Please, make it make sense.

If a mindset like this is followed, the industry would be doomed. New talent would never get opportunities, and growth would be impossible.

BTW, actors don’t ā€œupgradeā€ through co-stars—they upgrade through skills and by honing their craft, and that’s what helps them in the long run. And casting decisions are not in actors’ hands; production teams make those decisions.

Honestly, the way you phrased that paragraph just shows a lack of maturity and a very shallow mindset. Read some books—it might help. Maybe take a break from dramas too; it could help cool down the unnecessary hate toward people.

Lastly, Lomon is a pretty good young actor. He has already shown his skills in works like Revenge of Others, massive global hit AOUAD, and Family Matters, and he’s doing very well in *NTTT*. With more experience and projects, he will definitely become one of the strongest actors of his generation.

It’s great that you’re watching it for the actors, but how did you decide the script is bad after just two…
No one is policing anything. I just asked a genuine question, because calling a script bad when the show has barely started is like jumping to conclusions without knowing the story at all. Apparently, First impressions ≠ final judgment.

But yeah, my ignorance—there might be people like you who are fine with that.

Anyway, you’re free to watch it however you want. Hope it grows on you.āœŒļø
