If you love a story which shows a journey with so much details and careful explanations, not an instant in everything (career, relationship, etc), this drama is good. I love learning other cultures, a reason I watch historical dramas, so this drama is interesting for me.

Chen Yan Yun knows Gu Jin Zhao is close with Ye Xian. Therefore, he asks her what is their relationship. After she answers he is her best friend, Yan Yun tells her his intention to court her. He won't pursue her if Jin Zhao says she loves Ye Xian.
Chen Yan Yun shows no jealousy no matter how close Jin Zhao and Ye Xian after that day. He may help her, talk to her, or meet her, but Yan Yun is fine because he knows Ye Xian is just a friend.
Chen Xuan Qing is a piece of chess he's not aware of. Yan Yun has no idea Jin Zhao and Xuan Qing are close, I mean were close before. What makes him so jealous is his nephew is her first love. Yan Yun loves Jin Zhao and knows how powerful that feeling is. Knowing his nephew is his wife's first love is too much for him to handle.
Yan Yun knows it happened in the past, but has no idea how to control the fiery in his heart. And he does what most men in the world do when they are having a hard time: avoid the problem and throws himself into his works.
Let me tell you, the writers are genius to describe these two situation very well. Some of you complain that Yan Yun is too perfect. Here they show you one of his flaws.
