Up to ep26. The reason I'm still watching is the epic fight scenes. That horse ride fight scene in ep26 is beautifully…
Agree on both fronts.

With the horse right fide, after so many watched movies/Dramas. I was actually caught in thinking, "Did I ever see it before"?

Maybe it’s the script, maybe there’s too much going on to fit everything well into 36 eps, but the show’s…
Agree, that's a big issue for me as well.

I could overlook many weaknesses if the Drama would bring some emotions or deeper thoughts ouf of me.

Unfortunately, "ROFG" feels extremely flat.

It's the Emperor decree, not something which can be turned down.

The drama doesn't follow the novel... Plot points were changed... However drama did a good part in fleshing out…
Thn for the info - novel focusing on the FL makes me actually more interested in reading it.

Is “Blossom” the name of the first season?
"Blossom" is an excellent show on its own, worthy checking out (episodes 1 and 5 are amazing, so either you will be hooked or just know it's not for you)

She is smart enough to know why is this happenings and that it's a long game. What do you expect her to do right now? Beat Mr Chu?

You say "foodie", I see "glutton", it's usually a huge turn-off for me actually :)

But once again, thanks for a detailed recommendation.

Thanks for the recommendation. Didn't have a chance to watch it yet and I hate Amnesia (especially if it's about strong FLs who suddenly have to re-invent themselves), but it still seems quite interesting.

Thanks. I don't use Viki or any other paid streaming service, but I found a good ones elsewhere after all.

Regading the 2nd season - not sure if I will be watching it immediately, have some Micro Dramas on my wishlist first.

Minor thought - I started to watch a "LOFG" a few days ago, along with the "Flourished Peony". Badass Female Lead in Action Drama seemed much closer to my taste than Female Lead cultivating Peonies, but now - I feel absolutely nothing watching "ROFG" (maybe, except for disappointment during Damsel in Distress moments), and yet I'm obsessed with finding better subtitles for "Flourished Peony" following Episode 29, enjoying immsensely the FL's life ups and downs.

Sometimes, C-Dramaland leads to weird places and conclusions.

BTW, the fact that "ROFG" has a bit higher rating compared to "Flourished Peony" is a travesty of gigantic proportions.

I don't mind slow pace, if things make sense and the FL isn't made to look weak just to keep Romance progressing.

I don't read much, but recently I've finished full 775 chapters of "I became the cannon fodder who died early, and I angrily married the villain".
Quite a big achievement for me, but Lu Songli is just an amazing Female Lead and was too curious about her after watching Micro Drama based on it.

Getting back to the point, I'm yet to see a poor review of the "Female General" Novel, so the chance of me attacking it is actually quite high.

I don't think it's ridiculous to expect a Powerful General not to cry in the middle of the battle, giving her back to the opponent in a result, so he can kill her from behind.

I understand, you like Romance, and possibly, you live for moments when ML saves FL over and over again.

For me, it's ridiculous the way it is presented, especially under a "Legend of Female General" title.
The same thing happened during the Water Battle, when the ML suddenly teleported himself from a few kilometres away, just to make his big save in the water, because of course, it would be a travesty if the FL could finish some opponents on her own without getting injured.

I see your point and this what I think could’ve happened. When she was with them as He Rufei they most probably…
Mysoginism is one thing, but General's Li Kuan idiocy and cowardness is another. I just have a tough time believing that he could be any better during the FL's original years as General Feihong.

Regarding FL getting saved again - I can only tell you to re-watch the end of the battle. The writers made He Yan not only ridiculously cry on the battlefield, but then the opposite army's Commander was pretty much ready to cut her head off from behind.

AND THEN OF COURSE DUDU IS HERE TO SAVE A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS...disguised as the Legendary Female General.

Dudu is the ML, General Fengyun - "Dudu" is a "Commander" in Chinese, so we hear it 10-15 times per episode.

Agree, strategically it make a lot of sense.

That's what He Yan should do before - to tell Dudu about herself before he realizes it, to keep control of the situation in her grasp.
