well, she’s book smart and it’s literally her first day at the office so i think it’s realistic for her…
OMG, I so much hate calling FLs "Mary Sue" every time they prove to be even half-capable.

All while all the perfect Emperors/Crown Princes/unbeatable Marquises or Dukes/cold CEOs are present pretty much in every drama, and yet, nobody calls them "Marty Sue" or something like that.

This show did not disappoint with a strong FL who has now flying skills king funstrength but a strength of character.…
- This show definitely disappoints regarding FL's strength (maybe except her dog-sniffing nose)
- She basically did nothing to make the guys all in her; they pretty much did it on their own and without any logical reason (hello, writers)

Wow, the female lead is FEMALE-LEADING proper. No more doing things behind the scenes and hiding power while pretending…
No, she's not; it's ML running circles around everyone, her included.
Plus rescuing her every 1-2 episodes.
Come on...

It's yet another show masquerading as "female-centric", where the writers have an allergy to making the FL the most capable person in the drama.

For all the people complaining about a weak/dumb/useless/outmatched female lead (I know I couldn't stomach it), I recommend watching "Kill My Sins", where the lowborn FL does a splendid job navigating high-level cliques on her revenge track.

Title The Glory Part 2 Spoiler
My thoughts after finishing it (binge style). In short, it's possibly the best modern revenge drama I've ever watched…
- I think a big part of the praise is the fact that it has a happy ending
- Too much bland romance/time spent between the leads and too much time spent on flashbacks with violence
- I always put situations under the microscope when the ML/ FL fail; I thought the mistake when she left her sidekick husband's picture on the wall was something I could see in reality. On the other side, I hated the whole plot with her mother; there's no way, after their past and so many years of preparations, she would be unprepared like that for her mother's crazy shenanigans
- I also didn't like the moment when she decided to kill herself; nobody ever called me an optimist, but I really don't see it happening after completing such a mission.
- Was I the only one who somehow thought that the old landlord lady should take her in many years ago after they rescued each other from drowning? Wouldn't this be quite natural? IMO, they somehow should explain why it didn't happen.
- With the sidekick's daughter leaving the country, I was really worried that her mother would be beaten to death. Also, it was really good planning to send her away first.
- The CEO husband was such a charismatic and all-around capable guy; he also seemed to treat people beneath him decently enough. His fight in the parking lot against the gangster psycho was one of the highlights of this Drama.
- I wonder if the CEO and FL romance would have legs. It's a big step-up from playing Go together to have a wife with scars on a body like that, when you are full of options and, to an extent, you need a presentable partner during high-life meetings.
- I felt that dark humour and dialogues, albeit still very good, weren't as clever in Part 2 compared to Part 1.
- The revenge was successful (perpetrators turning on another, ending dead or in prison), but the drama did a decent job showing that, as a victim, leading well in the future is also a powerful revenge; the villainous Weather girl clearly hated the fact that FL was doing well in her adult life.

My thoughts after finishing it (binge style).
In short, it's possibly the best modern revenge drama I've ever watched (I think I liked "Kill My Sins" more, but it's a costume drama), but at the same time, I feel it's a bit overrated.

Title The Glory
Very intriguing, exceptionally well-made and even better written show (dialogue quality and dark humour reminded me of "Justified"), but with a few potential serious flaws:
- For an 8-episode drama/season, the entry to the story taking practically 3 episodes was really a lot.
- I have a very hard time believing that a sharp and influential guy like the CEO husband wouldn't make a deep background check on her wife.
- As horrific and gruesome as the violence from the Evil 5 was against the female lead, what the teacher did was the most shocking to me. I'm glad she made him go first, but he still didn't suffer enough in my eyes. And don't start me on other teachers watching it in person...
- I quite like the male doctor, but I'm just really worried that he will be a typical overprotective boyfriend in Season 2, either rescuing the female lead too many times or messing up her plans.

I guess it's time to start Season 2 now!

Title My Name
if only was a male leadidk why someone would make action drama with female lead. so cringe
Hah, admire the directness,

However, if the male lead were told "hit the vital spots" and then suddenly became an unstoppable fighter, it would be almost equally dumb.

Title My Name
The female lead is pretty great, and it's quite gripping all-around, but still it's one of the most overrated stories featuring "female badass leads" I've watched.
Starting with her training moulding her very quickly into becoming a super fighter, "hit the vital spots", lol.
Or the kicked-out gangster's quick rise to prominence, soon building an undefeated army of gangsters. Even bigger lol.
I also pity a policeman a lot; writing over 100 reports on someone without anything happening, I would get ed up after 10.

There is a rather cheap Chinese movie with a very similar plot, a prettier leading actress and similar fighting scenes, which I would recommend instead; at least you will waste less time.
And yes, I temporarily forgot the title :).

The only truly great thing about "My Name" is the leading song.

In a show like "Nikita" (I'm talking about the one with Maggie Q), at least the backstory is more believable, making the female lead a formidable agent/fighter.

Title Overdo
You'll can hate the female lead as much as you want because none of you like a little complex female character…
Isn't the biggest issue with her that she is just dumb/incompetent with her mission?
I would gladly watch a drama with a female lead not giving a damm about ML, but her supposed incompetence and poor decision-making make me think twice.

Ok so clearly they just mtl'ed the subs. What they must mean here is the imperial city capital. Rebirth for you…
Yes, Kyoto is heavily used in cheaper translations; many vertical dramas have it as well.

From what I've seen, cinematography and things like that, it looks like something I wouldn't enjoy. But I am always ready to go for interesting female leads, so who knows.

I can recommend " Kill My Sins " to you, though- a truly female-centric drama (majority of them in reality aren't) with almost zero romance. My perfect combo :).

Cheers.

Thanks.
And no triggers for me, fortunately.

The "Kill My Sins" female lead was interested in hypnosis since childhood and was manoeuvred by people whom she is trying to stop many years later into bringing them young girls for you can imagine what...
She also later had one of the victims commit suicide in front of her, plus found her parents killed with a girl her age, whom attackers thought was her instead.
It all was presented on flashbacks quite a bit.

So, probably worse...

So the Tiger Roar Gang are the main villains!?😭 They’re human traffickers!!! And there’s still so much…
I am not watching it (yet?), but you made me curious if her childhood was worse/more traumatic compared to the female lead from "Kill My Sins", my recently finished drama.

Halfway through, so far watching its like Meng Ziyi cannot lose at all
Except for the gazillion times when she was rescued by someone else, lol.
She barely did anything on her own.

If you have written the same about ML, then it would actually be true...

Title Save Me
Rewatching this for some reason after a few years- it's possibly the creepiest, the most disturbing and terrifying drama I've ever watched; in big part because of the amazing villain's performance.
The ass-kicking gangster was great as well.

I don't watch K-Dramas, so it was disappointing to learn that the leading actress was blacklisted, as she definitely could act and obviously was very pretty.
However, regarding her character, I was quite tired after some time when she still tried to reason with people inside the sect. For that reason, I don't think it needed 16 episodes, as 12 would make it even better.
The YT streaming friend was irritating as hell; however, the chubby one was not only a very good friend, but also was super smart.
Also, I wonder if there is any Korean drama where Police is portrayed in a positive light, lol :).

This drama is full of typical Korean tropes, but has one very, very strong point - Son Jong Hak playing Chairman Kang is one of the most charismatic and scariest villains I've seen in dramas anywhere.
What a great actor!

For whatever reason, I've decided to re-watch it... and it didn't seem as good as I thought.
Interesting premise, strong opening episodes, some strong acting moments, but the further in the story, the more ridiculous it went.
And of course, really depressing; from the school bullying to grown-ups and police incompetence.

The main villain from the school was a really good one; with a very punchable face and some clever ideas, but also a lot of "plot armour" for people to continue believing his lies (female lead, I'm talking to you), and he also broke the law so many times that I really can't believe he wasn't arrested, dad police's commisioner or not.

Also, the ML's fighting scenes were surprisingly good (the karaoke scene was amazing), even the female lead's school fight and hip toss throw were executed very nicely. I guess they had high-level stunt replacements.

is there any other shows like this one, I loved it so much but I dont know any other like it
If you enjoy overrated and overhyped shows , you should also try "The Double", "Legend of the Female General" and "Pursuit of Jade", although the latter is actually decent; just not the 9.1 decent.
