Not really. The way she went about her so called redemption was done well and satisfying. First she realised the things she covered were never valued by FTY and she realised she lost her dignity and self in that way. Then she saved FTY from that place along with telling the truth and freeing them from the Yu family scheme, that was the cause of distance in our couple. Then she gave a good piece of mind to that Yu guy. FTY said she lost of individuality when she arrived in the capital. And she realised it's not her fault to not meet his unrealistic expectations. Then she freed herself from Yu family to essential find herself instead of being a tool for others. Her punishment for betraying FTY is the cold and fake life she lead in Yu family. In my book she's not fully forgiven but atleast she's ok now. I won't get satisfaction in seeing her ruined. I can just ignore her blissfully

Tbh retiring in ganlin is a book ending. So much was changed from the novel. I'm hoping they change the system. Stay in the capital for the salt reform and then retire to a safe place

This a good point but general wang is still there to control the army. Remember he was ready to sacrifice himself to save the northern army? I think general Mo death is also to not lose general wang who is very seasoned in understanding court politics but also managing the army. So all in all its Mo's death made many things come to an end

Ding yuxi's acting was really good in this episode. My heart truly breaks for ZL. It's been long time since we saw where the stakes are truly terrifying and our leads are not overpowered. I usually hate when villains are expected to be powerful but they are easily Op'ed by the leads (unless it's rebirth then it's understandable). The Yu family is a terrifying family. Even the emperor can't act willy nilly without Evidence. Also the emperor is under immense pressure due to natural disaster. And if it's not rectified his throne will be in danger. Factions will be formed and even he can be overthrown. General Mo and commander wang has also understands the politics. Infact commander wang was ready to get punishment for accepting smuggled salt to save the northern army. Death of general Mo saved all the headache. I won't even blame madam mo because she's grief stricken and in preview she's there to support FTY. Our leads despite being intelligent still inexperienced. ZL has to go through this unfortunately to understand what's truly at stake and there's a reason why it's important to be steady with schemes. FTY is regretting her decisions. She's facing too many deaths back to back which is muddying her mind but she has to pull herself together to protect the people who's still alive. Especially a very broken husband who's walking on thin ice. I think they'll get their shit together in the upcoming episodes, come up with proper schemes that leads to yu family downfall, uninterrupted salt reform and eventual retirement to ganlin to have a safe and steady family. Also I feel like they could easily prevented madam fu's death or atleast a scenes as why she has still not gotten away from that house. Things are truly bad right now but story wise it's well done and not quality decay.

Also she's grief stricken. Wasn't she consoling FTY during a funeral?(fake one for ZL) I think she needs time to pull herself together. She knows she's the root cause. But she's not evil, she's a bit greedy but straight forward

MDL rating was a rollercoaster. On day 1 it was rated 8.6 suddenly on day 2 it became 7.9 then slowly now it became 8.5 and if the storyline and characters, production quality remains the same then the rating will definitely improve

In the novel FL helps out lady wu in the climax where the yu family meets their deserved karma and so I think they both will be in decent relationship. I think the Fu dad is just an irritating obstacle for the sake of it

The editing makes it confusing and something we understood by context. The maid was having fantasies about becoming the bedchambermaid for the young lord(we don't know if it's her own fantasy or something implanted by madam yu) Yake insults the primary maid of madam yu by spouting rules to dominate her which is directly insulting madam yu. So in order to sow discord between yake and her closest maid(who became greedy now) she devised a plan to let the young master know that the embroidery was hers and not yake's. That's why she chose different color to do the pouch and when yake claimed it as her own, the shameless guy instantly clocked it that yake was faking it. But the maid realised instantly that this plan failed and now she's not favoured by anyone anymore.
