Title Love Story in the 1970s Spoiler
i think they'll have their first kiss in ep 17, according to the teaser
I’m not sure if it will be or not tbh. She didn’t tell him out loud that she liked him - she thought it in her head. He leaned in for a kiss before the preview changed, so I am expecting her to deflect again tbh

Title Love Story in the 1970s Spoiler
when do the leads fall inlove? i plan to watch this but want to know when the romance starts
Ah, well it depends lol. The ML loves her basically since the beginning. Fei Ni takes a lot longer. As of the episodes that have already aired, she hasn’t fully reciprocated yet. They have a lot of screen time together, a LOT of incredibly SWEET moments. So it’s not like the romance is nonexistent, but its a sloooooowwwww burn for the FL.

I couldn't care less about them!
The only semi-decent thing that came out of that interaction was a little bit of an acknowledgment that maybe he shouldn’t have listened to his mom.

What Fang Muyang most envies about Fei Ni is the overwhelming affection that exists among his family members (and…
I’m excited / terrified waiting for what’s going to happen the second half of the drama. When I watched the last few episodes I sometimes wondered how they’re gonna fill the time until the finale.

I could be wrong, but I have always been under the impression with period dramas that a marriage is considered…
I’m thinking back on the period dramas I’ve watched over the past year and consummating the marriage has always been a big deal and it’s gossiped about if the couple hasn’t consummated. Plus, the rules may have shifted from the historical dramas I’ve seen to this drama that takes place in 1975. I think that within the context of this specific drama, it needs to be consummated to be considered legitimate. Otherwise why would they launch an investigation and ambush the leads in the middle of the night to see if they were sleeping together or not? If only the legal stuff was needed to make a marriage legitimate, I don’t think Ms Xu would have cared if Fei Ni and Muyang were sharing a bed. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Agreee!! I was kinda frustrated with FMY on the latest episodes regarding the FN's money and the fake tv coupon..…
Would you like me to list the ways I think Fei Ni could grow? Lol. I don’t recall saying that she’s “always flawless”. Again, you’re putting words in my mouth and adding your own commentary.

I do agree with you that the relationship IS uneven. But my point is that Muyang went into it knowing that it was going to be. And he is continuing to be happy and okay with it being uneven.

I'm really enjoying it BUT why are all the men lowkey dumb and useless 🧐 (some more than others: her father,…
Huh. I guess I don’t see it this way in this drama. Muyang is sometimes irresponsible and impulsive, but he’s not dumb or useless. His quick wit and ability to think fast on his feet has gotten them out of some pretty sticky situations. He blackmailed Feng Lin into giving them the apartment. He saved them during the inspection when they were being questioned about the condoms (lmao “they’re too small” 🤣) and later on when they raided their room in the middle of the night. He’s incredibly cunning and smart. I wouldn’t call him useless or dumb at all. Her brother is in a difficult spot because he can’t find a job. It seems like back in that day there was job scarcity and it is more about who you know and who your connections are rather than your abilities. He’s not that much different than Fei Ni, who has not been able to get into college after four years of trying. They live in tough times, resources are limited and there were major cultural shifts happening during that time.

The whole concept of "fake marriage" is nonsense in most dramas, because if you got legally married, you…
I could be wrong, but I have always been under the impression with period dramas that a marriage is considered legitimized if it’s been consummated, which theirs has not been (yet).

So is it your conclusion that he has not done anything else other than make her life fun? Because it does not…
So? Whether he’s “pretty committed” or not has NOTHING to do with her. She set her boundaries and HE agreed to them. His feelings are his own and she is NOT obligated to return them if he loves her more than she does him at the moment. It’s icky to suggest that she owes him her feelings just because he loves her and does stuff for her.

Did I say that my conclusion is that he hasn’t done ANYTHING outside of helping her have fun? No. You are putting words in my mouth and adding your own commentary to what I said. He has done a lot for her and I would not love their relationship as much as I do if he didn’t 🙄That being said, though, is that Muyang has the choice to tell her no and walk away at any time. He can choose to do his own thing anyway and let her be mad about it. She is not forcing him to do anything. He’s making his own choice to stay, his own choice to meet her needs, and if we are being honest, he seems pretty damn happy with his choice.
