You’re awesome. I voiced similar concerns a month or two ago and some people got nasty and personal. Stalked my watch history and everything, and personally attacked me for a highly rated drama I watched less than a year ago that aired over ten years ago with a FL who was a minor at the time of filming. Obviously I had no idea, as the drama aired in 2015 and I watched it in 2025. People can be nasty and bratty. I commend all of your comments and agree. 👏🏻

Idk guys. I think some are being too hard on the ML and forget that he isn’t privy to all of the information about YeLi that we have as the viewers. He hasn’t seen the scenes that we have of the FL hallucinating her maid and agonizing over the decision to tell him the truth. He hasn’t seen the extent of her mental illness as we have, and he hasn’t seen what all she has been up to. We know what happened on the mountain, but he does not. MXY has very limited information to guide his choices.
From his perspective yes - she has been sweet and receptive to his attentions, but she has also been incredibly guarded. She’s been sneaking out and acting furtively. He promises to always be by her side, and then the very next morning he wakes up to an empty bed. She deflects a lot when he flirts with her. She hid things from him and he knew it. Remember when she initially wanted to heal his legs and he told her that if she had a problem being married to a cripple that she could just leave? He DID believe at first that she only wanted to heal him out of pity and that’s one of the reasons why he resisted. Now imagine that she won him over and convinced him that it was not out of pity. It 💯 makes sense why he would be so damn hurt when he finds out the truth from someone else AND when she tells him about paying off a debt - because that’s one of the reasons he didn’t want her help in the first place. She should have told him, even if we all can understand why it was hard for her to.
Heck, she even told her friend who investigated the mountain in private that paying back her debt was the biggest comfort to her. WE know that she has some feelings for him, but I don’t even think she herself realized it. Maybe it’s just me, but even with her affection toward him so far it does seem that she has been guarded and holding herself back. WE know why, but MXY didn’t all along. He just knew his wife had a sad heart, he tried to help her heal from it earlier without knowing the extent of her pain. Meanwhile she has been fluctuating between warm and affectionate to secretive and distant. It’s not fair to judge MXY for his reaction when he does not have all the information that we do. And as we all know, when he DOES get all of the information he falls apart with regret. If he had the same information that the viewers had he never would have reacted as he did.

I also don’t think the tags help. They’re all about the amazing FL, but there’s nothing in the tags about the ML besides the disability. If I didn’t watch the trailer ahead of time, I wouldn’t have picked up this drama based on the tags. I may be in the minority here, but I like my romantic leads to be equally developed and equally capable. The tags of this drama don’t indicate that at all.

I hear you. I don’t really care much about the side characters or side romances, and they haven’t revealed enough about Lishan Academy to keep me as interested in it as I was in the beginning. It’s still enjoyable, but I’m finding myself tuning out more during the scenes with new characters or new random romances thrown in.
It’s kinda feeling like things are slowing down a little. Episode 20 felt like mostly filler with yet another new character introduced with a new romantic couple, the leads haven’t had much screen time together the last couple of episodes and there hasn’t been much progression with the plot. I think I’m also ready for the secrets the FL is keeping to get revealed. The romance can’t really progress until they are.

Do we absolutely know that they will divorce? I kinda understood from what others said about the book is that they don’t break up, and yet I also know that the drama doesn’t really follow the novel.
