This makes me feel better about this one. I don’t think I’ve seen the actor who plays the ML in anything before, and I was very intrigued by him in the trailers for this one. This one has a lot of my favorite drama tropes (marriage first, love later) and I really love the actress who plays the FL. Unfortunately nothing turns me off to dramas faster than unequal romantic development and pushing a particular agenda at the expense of well-rounded and equal character roles. I have been on the fence about this one because it sounds like something I will just get annoyed with 😂 But if both characters get equal development and screen time I’ll be happy.

Well that’s good to hear if it’s true. Hopefully he has good screen time and his role isn’t downplayed or sidelined. I’m soooo tired of that happening in a lot of the recent costume dramas.
I kind of regret getting so distracted by the ML and missing the plot development 😂 But I just started episode 5 and can someone explain the significance of the post-it notes and what that blue journal was about? It looked like notes on how to communicate and body language, etc. What is that about? Spoilers are fine as long as they’re tagged.
Its happy! let me know if you want specific details.
Yes - Jingxiu accidentally killed him. The Emperor kind of did. He had Zhao Ling fake his own death and continue to investigate the embezzlement secretly. The NW crew saved Zhao Ling as he was coming home with the evidence to convict the Yu family.

Okay! So Zhao Ling retires from court and he and Tingyun move back to Ganlin and have a lovely daughter together. Mr. Yu dies, and Lady Yu and Jingxiu lose everything and live as commoners together with his son. Lady Yu loses her mind. Miss Wu and Yake both escape the Yu family before the downfall and are both happy as independent women. Yake, who helps take down the Yu family and redeems herself, teaches at the girls school in Ganlin. Umm. Yeah so lots of happy!
Yes - marriages, especially during this time, probably were not all rainbows and unicorns. I love how realistic FTY and ZL’s marriage is. I believe absolutely that they both love each other very much, but they’re still going through a rocky time. It’s very realistic.
P.S. I’m glad you were teasing 😂Someone a bit below in the comments thought they should divorce, so I had to make my position clear (no I don’t think they do) lol.
The relationship between ZL and TY right now feels like two people walking on a dark, foggy road. It's scary and…
I understood that there’s a spoiler going around that YaKe tells FTY that Mr. Yu set up FTY’s father to kill her mother… I hope that’s true. FTY needs to know some of these details because yeah, she has very little idea what’s going on and ZL has been doing some dark stuff.
Well, I have yet to watch Ep31, but I got myself spoilt. All I’ll say is that, for one, Ep31 is a great reminder…
Wait - people are actually upset that this drama will likely end with them leaving politics? My goodness they totally missed the whoooole message of the drama 😂

You’re honestly just trolling. No one who actually watches this drama could argue that ZL profited from any of this.
