If the Emperor wants peace in the country, he needs to keep the Duke of Wei happy, because that army is actually enough to stage a rebellion. Plus, that army has won so many battles for the country and they're really popular with the people. That's why Princess Zhaoning must marry into the palace. They need her father's favour more than she needs them.

This was focused on the business/entrepreneurship part rather than romance. Their relationship was a very steady and stable kind of love, which is not fiery passion but just a different kind of soft romantic.

If people are here hoping for a lot of romance, I'd say: temper your expectations. There are a few kisses, but everything is very much to the standard of the 80s and 90s in conservative Asia. Not to say that there's no romance, cos I would argue that the main couple's relationship is very romantic cos the ML is very cute and a super green flag - the relationship is just not very physical.

It was the 80s and early 90s in China... do you really think they did more than hold hands at that time? I don't know where you're from, but in Asia in general, that's the acceptable level of 'romance' in that era.
