I get your point about the timeline, but I think you’re overlooking something important. The Prime Minister’s motive for wanting to kill the ML after his son’s death is definitely revenge—that part is clear. But that doesn’t mean his involvement in the ML’s mother’s death happened because of his son’s death.
The drama eventually makes it explicit that 15 years earlier, Zhuang Shen himself fabricated evidence to frame Wei Qingyu as a spy and admitted that he personally killed her. So his history with the ML and his family clearly predates his son’s death.
That’s why I don’t think the storyline can be reduced to “his son died, therefore he suddenly wanted the ML dead.” His son’s death became another reason for his revenge, but it wasn’t the beginning of his conflict with the ML’s family. And that’s exactly why I think looking at the larger political conspiracy matters here. 😭
back to this! the female lead pisses me off badly jeezz. why is she so stiff?? no chemistry between them at all
'No chemistry’ because she’s not constantly smiling and throwing herself at him? 😭 Please, some of us actually enjoy chemistry that isn’t written like a TikTok edit. You can dislike the FL or find her stiff, but that doesn’t automatically mean there’s no chemistry between them

Mind you, the Prime Minister had already framed ML’s mother and was the one responsible for her death before his own son was killed. So his hostility toward ML didn’t suddenly start because of his son’s death. He had already wronged ML and his family long before that. His son’s death only turned that existing conflict into something even more personal for him and gave him another reason to seek revenge.
HEAVY SPOILER RANT !!! Also, its a bit irritating that everyone in the world wants to ML for no obvious reasons.…
I think you’re judging the characters’ motivations too individually instead of looking at the bigger political conspiracy at play. You don’t have to agree with their actions, but saying everyone wants the ML dead for “no obvious reason” oversimplifies the entire plot. 😭
And honestly, Fated Hearts is literally built around characters being both players and pawns in a much larger political game. That’s part of what makes the political storyline so interesting and not everything revolves around the ML alone.
PLUS, I’d also say the Prime Minister isn’t doing all of this solely for his son. His son is certainly one of his motivations, but his actions are also tied to his own political ambitions, interests, and the larger power struggle. Reducing his entire character to “he’s just avenging his son” completely overlooks the bigger picture. 😭
