It actually starts at bad and ends at sweet. One is a toxic person (there’s an implied gang rape, it’s not shown), but as a viewer you see him fall for someone and changing his ways. The other is a sassy schemer for whom life is an uphill battle but his scheming mind makes for some misunderstandings as well. Their story becomes sweeter as it progresses. So you as a viewer start to root for a black flag and a trickster. I can totally see this story not being for everyone. However, since you’ve watched some clips already, you can probably see if it’s for you. Also, just in case, a recommendation: do watch the original episodes as they were released last year, not the newly released compilation ones. Those new videos have horrible harsh cuts and skips the story in places. You probably know it, but in case you didn’t, you can find all this, the original episodes, BTS, and those new compilation videos on the dedicated Revenged Love Youtube channel.

Couple of days ago (four, five) the Blue Lips channel posted an hour long video and in that video the songs started with someone whispering the title of the song. Worth checking out if they used your song in that video. That’s how i found out the title for one of my favorite songs as well.

As someone who feels this series is about surviving the entertainment industry as well i’m glad to have come across your discussion. As the episodes unfold, i found myself wishing the main characters mostly to fare well instead of mostly hoping they would finally kiss. The way the team have managed to channel some of their frustrations, fears and chokeholds into something caring, brave and daring has really charmed me. I especially like how it has not become something dark or heavy, but instead brings lightness to the topic. I hope the series brings the team behind it what they’d hoped, and if that was just venting and expressing themselves, that’s valuable too.

If it helps to know, there will not be an offscreen gang scene as in episode 1. However, it is still a love in the style of the main characters, so there will be scenes with at least dubious consent between the leads.

In the full series he goes from a sadist who doesn’t care for anyone to first slowly falling in love, then giving everything he has to his loved one, and ending up needing to be rescued by his love from a dire situation, and reaching a happy ever after. Both main characters aren’t good men and nice people at the start, they’re manipulative and unsatisfied and it takes quite a journey for them to become furfilled and trusting. Probably episodes 1-2 show the place where they are coming from. The other many episodes are the turns and twists in the story. I remember when watching at probably around episode 5, my perception of what the early episodes showed had changed. At first it had felt too strong. But that tone didn’t continue and becomes sweeter. So as a viewer you get to experience in a way how he becomes interested and then later infatuated with what ends up as his love. So it makes the happy end feel earned. Also another warning, in the book all main characters are more manipulative and harsh than in the series which leaves out several of the more disturbing twists. So while i encourage you to continue the series, based on your comment i recommend against reading the novel.
