I’m quite anxious. I don’t support Yang Sejong as much as I used to a few years ago but I still come back to him out of the sentiment. I’m happy for him that he is paired with Park Eunbin. They have a similar personality but Park Eunbin is more energetic and Yang Sejong is calmer, but NOT nonchalant which is so lovely! He isn’t calm because of being nonchalant but because of his introverted and shy nature. He blush really easily! 🤗 I’m especially happy about the pairing because Yang Sejong have such a high acting skills while I didn’t realy like male leads that played with Park Eunbin since her very first main role. People might not agree with me on MyDramaList but this is my view. This is my hope that Park Eunbin will finally have a talented co-star. But I’m anxious because I know Western people don’t really watch Korean productions for art but for entertainment. Recent events proved that Westerners value pretty faces in acting industry more than being skilled. I often hear Westerners say: ,,I can’t watch a drama with an ugly main lead’’. This is so cruel and immature because what the appearance has to do with acting skills? Actors job is not to be a model but to act well. You won’t like what I’m about to say but as a person who follows Korean culture, Korean art and Korean society since 7 years now I can surely say that Westerners are even more obsessed with pretty faces than Koreans. You might find it unbelievable because Korea have such a huge percentage of plastic surgeries so you might think they are more obsessed about face than Westerners. But no, not in art industry. I saw on Twitter people blaming Koreans for making pretty faces famous (it was about Lee Chaemin) but actually, it’s Westerners who hype up pretty faces over skills and the situation with Cha Eunwoo proved it but I don’t want to say much because his fans will eat me alive. The trend of casting pretty faces over skilks began when Korean dramas became international. The dramas with pretty celebrities aren’t even that famous in Korea like outside Korea. In dramas released BEFORE about 2010-2015 directors and writers chose truly talented and skilled actors and actresses. Every time Korea brings up film artists from 90’s or 00’s, Westerners don’t even know about their existence and are mean to them because they don’t know them so they think they aren’t popular. Popularity of celebrities and artists in acting industry is way different in Korea and in Western world. Yang Sejong isn’t unknown as many Westerners think. He used to be a monster rookie, a new wave. He played next to many appreciated Korean actors and actresses. He was even in Running Man recently which means even a decade after his debut he is appreciated and known. Also he went there to promote a film ,,Run to the West’’ with his veteran co-stars. I remember how Westerners said that they couldn’t watch ,,Doona!’’ because of Yang Sejong’s face. He was called ugly multiple times. He was never called ugly until this drama reached Westerners. And I think it says a lot about the difference between Korea and Westerners. Before the chronically online people call me a ,,Korea glazer’’, notice that among thousands of Korea’s aspects I spoke up on art only. Thank you.

Why is his drama count so low? He’s got the visuals and the acting skills, he should be booking a drama every…
I don’t think it’s because he doesn’t have any roles. I used to like him as an actor years ago and I come back here often because of my sentiment towards him. And Yang Sejong choses his work very carefully. He treats the cripts like his potential soulmate. If his heart beats faster then he might take the role. Also he is VERY introverted and he often stays home. He appeared in Running Man some time ago and he even apologized for having a boring life 🥺 I appreciate that he isn’t desperate to be super famous like a celebrity but he keeps his artistic soul. And because he isn’t talked about outside Korea doesn’t mean he is super unknown. Young generation of Korean dramas fans treat this only as fun (which isn’t anything bad of course) but then because of that they spread misinformation and are super rude just because they know nothing about Korean culture and art. Yang Sejong used to be a monster rookie for a reason.
tf is this comment; all the men problemativ and you focus the wrong on woman. the problem is you always blaming…
How do I focus the problem on her only when I literally complimented her. I genuinely think she is highly skilled but my values don’t let me support people who are friends with problematic people. I didn’t write any hate on her. More than about her herself, I even listen the problematic things that the men she supports have done. Of course I don’t like those men more than her. But isn’t it a basic psychology? If you hang out with problematic people you are also problematic even if it’s a little bit. Because it means you accept the bad behaviors they have done. There is a saying in my country: ,,you become a person like the people whom you hang out with’’ and I agree with that. Especially there is a whole psychology research about that. I understand your anger towards double standards. I’m a lesbian who isn’t friends with men because I don’t feel the need to be their friends, I love women with my whole heart and I support maybe 3 male artists. The rest are women. You just recently really want to play like every single critism towards a woman is being a mysogyny. And because of people like you I was so scared that my love for women is fake because I could see their wrongdoings. But no, thanks to my psychologist now I know it’s healthy to not defend anyone in every single wrongdoings. I can love women and still not agree with them. More even, I can dislike some of them if I have a reason. Your point is really unlogical because I don’t care about gender here. If i want to support a male artist but I see he hang outs with problematic people I immediately lose the interest in them. The same with women. It’s not a matter of a gender but values. Please don’t search something deeper if you know that I clearly didn’t mean to be a person you wrote about in your reply. I feel especially sad about Im Jiyeon because I love to support women and that’s a pity that men are more appreciated in kdramas or films then women. Her skills are extraordinary so I go through my own ,,mourning’’ even more if I lost interest in a male artist. This is a place where you can share your opinions about actresses and actors. And those opinions don’t always have to be positive. There is no signs of me blaming her and I didn’t even think about it that way since I literally wrote names of men and what they did. Again, this is not a matter of a gender.
Ok first one 1. Ha Jungwoo - horse year - so there is connection2. Park Sunghoon - Rat/OX. - he is a womanizer…
I appreciate that you spent time on replying to my comment but I’m sorry, I don’t believe in religions, zodiac signs or Shengxiao (google says you’re basing your comment from that) 🤗
If Westerners cared more about acting and not the looks she would be one of the most popular actresses. She is so lovely and artistic. Kim Shinrock is really educated about philosophy and art which I appreciate so much! 🩷
Such a talented princess! A lot of popular actors and actressed avoid controversial scripts to stay being a celebrity afraid of backlash. But she’s a true actress. Already open minded at such a young age 🥹🩷
Such a waste of talent… She is super skilled and have one of the best filmography I’ve ever seen but she has no morals and she’s male centered. She has a boyfriend and yet she support male cheaters and also cheered on one of them in public. She’s friends with Ha Jungwoo who is a racist, Park Sunghoon who is a pervert and typical Korean man who fetishize Japanese women, She supports and cheered on Woo Sungjung who is a cheater and even has a kid with a woman he cheated with, Kim Minseok who i recently found out had a pedophilic behaviors, Lee Jungjae who is super problematic, Choo Youngwoo who is well known for having pedophilic and perverted behaviors and he even unfollowed everyone on instagram because of that. And she is in a relationship with man who had a weird way of finding himself a girlfriend. i dont think i ever met an actress this male centered. Once again, a huge waste of talent.
