This is a wuxia, male centric story and naturally has no place for romance in it..NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE ROMANCE, several other genres exist as well! This is a friendship story - a tale of loyalty between the trio, please leave it at that! You can argue that censorship influenced adaptation choices without insulting the character or acting as if friendship-centered stories are somehow inferior to romance-centered ones.
