I really like this authors work. Infact i love her. She is my most anticipated author. So maybe i was expecting…
I respectfully disagree. I think this is Park Hae Young’s best work among the three. My Mister is my all time favorite kdrama when it comes to slice of life but We Are All Trying Here topped it for me. This drama is so good that I can’t miss a single scene because every dialogue has substance and I can relate to it so much more than her other two dramas.
I like this one more because it’s not boring, no deaths to make you cry, the story is not dragging and the dark comedy makes the drama more enjoyable to watch compared to her other dramas. I personally loved the ending too. They wrapped it up neatly. It didn’t feel rushed it was just enough to leave the audience satisfied.
But that’s your opinion and I respect it. I just wanted to express my opinion too.
I just wish Gyeong Se and Hye Jin would break up (divorced). Hye Jin deserves better. The fact that she fell in love because of that first script when it wasn’t even Gyeong Se’s idea.
hidden gems 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the hype is ott. The ML is 10yrs older and looks and acts like a weirdo with a stunning…
If you think we're superior, then what do we call you? What do you call someone who judges people for liking and appreciating this drama? Tell me, because I honestly don’t get your point for coming into the comments section just to criticize us for enjoying this drama.
You’re the one acting like you know better, when we’re simply appreciating a type of writing that resonates with us, something that’s actually very rare in kdramas.
You’re the one who failed to understand it. If you don’t like park hae young's drama, then please gtfo of here

Lol, don’t mind this account. This account has been posting hateful comments here. It’s purely just a hater of fl or just a troll. Even commenting on park hae young profile to say shit lmao.
Dong Man is really pain to watch. There is always that one friend in our circle.at ep03, He witnessing Eun-A almost…
This is not a romcom where the male lead saves the female lead with 30 different camera angles and slow mo effects with blasting OST then ask “gwenchanayo?” when she falls into his arms
What if just what if the actress is hawng brother daughter?
The girl she argued with said that her dad is living with another family, and she’s living with her stepmother, Eun Ah’s mother. I forgot her name lol.
and also, the IRONY of ep9 global debate; over a coverhug. huge fcks for those who oppose that scene; both of…
The hate started from Korean netizens on X (Twitter) then international haters jumped in and started riding the hate train too, which is why things got worse. The funny part is that most of the people calling it “uncomfortable” are the same people who never even watched the drama.
X is literally a cesspool of people jumping into conversations without knowing the full context. Some people are obviously just tweet farming because controversy gets them engagement and money lol

Knets criticized My Mister too because of the age gap between the leads and the same thing happened with My Libertion Notes . Now it’s happening again with WAATH. They even want to boycott her lmao. At this point, I honestly don’t think the issue is about visuals, whether the female lead is “too pretty” for the male lead, or even the age gap itself. I think a lot of Korean viewers just aren’t open to these kinds of raw and unconventional stories yet.
Park Hae Young has always written almost like not for everyone kind of drama. International viewers usually don’t care about thigs like age gaps (not littler girl teen and old man rs lol) as long as the story is meaningful, well written, and touching. If the drama has substance and makes people connect with the characters, audiences will appreciate it, just like many of us do.
I also think this discourse is treated way too sensitively by some Korean netizens. They tend to magnify certain details and turn them into bigger controversies than they actually are. Maybe part of it comes from cultural expectations and how strict Korean society can be about relationships and public image.
What’s interesting is that Park Hae Young has been receiving the same criticisms since My Mister yet she still continues to write these kinds of stories anyway. That tells me one of two things:
Either she’s trying to say something important through her work or she refuses to let public pressure control her writing (like she dont give fvck).
I really hope she never stops writing. Her dramas have helped me connect deeply with her characters in a way very few writers can achieve. Losing a writer like Park Hae Young because of online backlash would honestly be such a huge loss for Korean dramas.
it bothers me a bit that this writer really likes to put an old man and a young girl together and in this particular…
Seeing people act like that scene came out of nowhere honestly makes me question whether they even watched the drama from episodes 1–8. The relationship between the leads didn’t magically appear overnight. Their bond was developed gradually, with every episode showing them learning to understand, comfort, protect, and heal each other emotionally. People are forcing this weird “motherhood” interpretation onto the scene when that was never the point. PHY has always written stories centered on emotionally wounded people finding healing and comfort through one another. That theme has always been present in her works. Her writing focuses on emotional intimacy, loneliness, empathy, vulnerability, and human connection.
Also, can people stop infantilizing grown women? She’s a woman in her 30s. It’s funny how nobody bats an eye when romcoms constantly portray female leads obsessing over shirtless male leads or acting childishly around older men, yet suddenly a sincere emotional moment where a man seeks comfort from the woman he loves is labeled “uncomfortable.” Please be serious.
That scene required emotional nuance and empathy to fully understand. PHY's writing has never been intended for shallow or surface level viewing. If you ignore the emotional buildup and character development leading up to that moment, then naturally you’re going to misunderstand the scene.

-It was nice to hear Mi Ran’s thoughts as an actress. Park Hae Young was kinda shading romcom dramas lmao. Kinda true though.
-Go Youn Jung has the saddest eyes ever. Great acting.
-Awww Dong Man took out a loan from a loan shark for his cat.
-“There is no evil in me, but there is strength.” — Hwang Dong Man.
This episode felt so short. I need more 😭
Next episode looks exciting! Will No Gang Sik join Hwang Dong Man? Omg hahahaha
