Lee Jun Young Completely Won Me Over
I loved Reborn Rookie from beginning to end. The story mixes chaebol politics, family drama, fantasy, sports and mystery, so at times there is almost too much going on, but somehow it worked for me and kept me wanting to watch the next episode. The biggest highlight was definitely Lee Jun Young. He completely convinced me that I was watching an older man living in a young man's body. It was in the little things -the pride, his worry for his daughter, his feelings for his wife, and the confidence of someone who had already lived an entire life. The whole cast was good, and seeing Jin Goo as a villain was strange after Descendants of the Sun! I know the ending didn't work for everyone, but I absolutely loved it. I thought it was hilarious and honestly the perfect way to finish a drama I enjoyed so much.Was this review helpful to you?
A Romantic Fairytale with Kdrama Magic
Such a wonderfully romantic fairytale, with just the right amount of comedy. Jun Ji Jyun and Lee Min Ho had incredible chemistry, and their performances made the fantasy romance completely work for me. Add the beautiful cinematography and gorgeous locations, and the whole drama has this magical quality that makes it very easy to fall in love with. And Shin Hae Sun in a supporting role? Different, Real and Beautifully Acted
I loved the unusual documentary-style format of this drama. It made the story feel different and much more intimate than a typical romance. Ji Chang Wook had a surprisingly difficult and emotionally exposed role, and I think he did an incredible job with it. Kim Ji Won was equally convincing, and together they made a complicated, sometimes frustrating relationship feel very real.Was this review helpful to you?
A Beautiful Fantasy Brought to Life
For me, this drama is pure fantasy. A modern fairytale with absolutely gorgeous cinematography. I loved the world it created and the feeling of escaping into something completely different. Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun worked beautifully as the leads, and Woo Do Hwan was another standout for me. Ji Chang Wook Makes It a 10
The story definitely has its holes, and normally they would have affected my rating. But Ji Chang wook's performance was simply incredible. He completely carried the emotional weight of the story for me, and I believed every moment of Tae-jung's anger, pain and desperation. So yes, despite the flaws in the writing, Ji Chang Wook alone makes this a 10/10 for me.Was this review helpful to you?
A Thriller Powered by Outstanding Performances
What an incredible thriller. The story kept me hooked, but the acting is what really made this drama unforgettable for me. Seo In Guk, Choi Won Young and Park BoGum were all fantastic, and the dynamic between their characters gave the story so much more depth. A Fairytale That Deserved Better
I actually raised my rating because of the amount of criticism this drama received over a historical inaccuracy. For me, Perfect Crown is a fictional story, almost a modern fairytale and I don't think IU, Byeon Woo-seok or the rest of the cast deserved the harsh treatment they received because of it. I enjoyed the drama for what it was: a beautiful fantasy romance with a wonderful cast, and I'm sticking with my 10/10.Was this review helpful to you?
A Drama That's Almost Impossible Not to Love
One of those dramas where everything came together for me - romance, humor, emotion, supporting characters and fantastic chemistry between the leads. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin made the relationship completely believable, and I became just as attached to many of the people around them. A K-Drama That Will Always Have My Heart
This is exactly the kind of drama I love - romance, action, danger, humor, and characters you become attached to. Song Joong-ki was incredibly charismatic as Yoo Si-jin, and the chemistry between the leads made the romance work for me. It was also one of the first K-dramas I watched, so it will always have a special place in my heart. It has that big, emotional kdrama feeling that makes me happily forgive some of the more unrealistic parts of the story.Was this review helpful to you?
The Cast That Made It a 10/10
The story wasn't always equally strong for me, but the cast absolutely made this drama. So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho and Joo Sang-wook were such a pleasure to watch together, and I was also impressed by Seo Su-min, especially considering this was her debut. One of those dramas where I enjoyed the characters enough to forgive some weaknesses in the writing and I would definitely watch a second season.Was this review helpful to you?
The Beginning of My K-Drama Addiction
My first K-drama, so it will probably always have a special place for me. Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung are ridiculously beautiful together, but thankfully the drama gave me more than just visuals. I Cried, I Loved It, I'd Watch It Again
Probably one of the K-dramas that affected me emotionally the most. Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young were wonderful together, and their chemistry made the romance feel genuinely painful and beautiful at the same time. A Rom-Com with a Killer Twist
One of those dramas that gives me exactly the combination I enjoy — romance, comedy, crime and enough suspense to keep things interesting. Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun have wonderful chemistry, and I loved how naturally the relationship develops alongside the darker storyline. Intense, Addictive and Impossible to Put Down
Ji Chang Wook is absolutely in his element here. The action is excellent, and knowing how much of it he performed himself makes it even more impressive. But what really stood out to me was his fascinating chemistry with Song Yoon Ah, sometimes even more than the actual romance. A Must-Watch for Every K-Drama Lover
Still my number one K-drama. It has almost everything I want in a drama action, romance, mystery, great chemistry and characters I genuinely cared about. Ji Chang Wook was fantastic as Healer, and his chemistry with Park Min Young is still one of my favorites.
