No one thinks it as ml centered drama. People thought it's a balanced drama with both leads are highlighted.
I don’t think “no one” is accurate since there definitely were a few people who did, but if you don’t, that’s great! and I’d say it’s pretty well balanced for the first 4 episodes since it’s just setting up how they met.
all these comments, please watch this behind where the director deng ke literally says in the first moment that the road to splendor is an ensemble drama with a diverse cast. it is not an ml centered drama, it is a story and growth driven plot, so if you’re watching for the screen time, just watch his contents on sns instead of critiquing the show: http://xhslink.cn/o/2hdq25UIT9
Btw these comments are misleading. They're exaggerating and making it look like the ml was nothing but background…
literally. even though the first few episodes took place at the fl’s family manor, he was still very present and involved? he even had fight scenes. it feels like they’re upset that the fl got screen time at all. I felt like it was pretty balanced right now and will prob become way more male centric as it progresses to appease these fans.
a lot of the promo material for Tingyun so far has been focused on romance… hope we can see more of her strength and ability to overcome obstacles on her own in the show
