What a mess

Umm... what? It starts well with the whole tumor thing and him going back to his hometown; so far so good, but then the girl shows up, acts like a bi*** says horrible things about the secondary couple basically almost ruining the doctor's career and the student getting bullied left and right but of course all is immediately forgiven and we see this in the form of group dinner... okay.
Then the ex-friend shows up, tells the ML that he likes him, only to immediately disappear, like we don't see him ever again, fell off the face of the planet... okay.
Then, when they could've started much earlier with the whole let's actually treat this tumor and the father showing up... no, they had to waste time with a nonsensical storyline with some gang trying to demolish stores, which culminates with a scarfaced guy covered in tattoos showing up at the school pool, and guess what? We never see him again either... okay.
And then for the grand, horrific, nonsensical, let's throw every single idea we had but didn't have the time to execute cause we wasted time with storylines that did not matter at all, FINALE. The father, after DECADES in complete denial and after beating one of his sons half to death, suddenly, after only 1 conversation with said son, does a complete 180 and is suddenly all for their gay relationships. Also, there is a comet? That will apparently have the same impact as a nuclear bomb? But only that little town is asked to evacuate and not the entire country?

Beautiful poetry

The majority of this series is pure art, like beautifully captivating poetry. I already know I will be rewatching this many times.
There are just a couple of things that, for me, dragged the story down to an 8.5
- Secondary couple? Absolutely unnecessary. Their pairing/plot contributed nothing to the overall story of the series; I basically skipped almost every single one of their scenes.
- Qianliang's past pairing? Too much power. They presented him as an actor with no longer any significant fame and no future, so how is it that he seemed to have so much power for practically the entirety of the series? Even in his death at the end, I mean, we kinda see it coming, which is fine, but then why all the implied hate towards Qianliang at a point where it no longer brings any weight or meaning to the plot?
- Too many tragedies. I understand that the first death was necessary for the individual development of all the other characters. But Qiantian's? That felt unnecessarily cruel towards his pain-filled character, who seems to finally be finding peace, and even asks for time to grieve a bit before starting his new story. Also, the way he died felt very muddy; I don't really understand the mystery surrounding it. And then the third death... it felt unnecessary and meaningless. I understand why his character would have done that earlier in the series: he had no fame left, no genuine people left, and even realised he was truly in love with Qianliang when he himself saw it was waaaaay too late; but to do it after everything has passed? After his redemption arc, plus 5 years into the future, where he even seems to be on good terms with Qianliang and is even mentioned to have retired? Make it make sense.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and I do plan to rewatch it multiple times in the future, but I will be skipping over what seems to be about a quarter of the series.

OMEGAVERSE!!! wait... what?

The review written by Falhon Cyril perfectly encapsulates everything I thought while watching this series... I really liked the cast and what they could do with the characters, and then the script happened... The Omegaverse has sooooo much to play with, and in this series they even chose to go the rare secondary genders route, introducing the 'true' alpha and 'pure' omega, but they did fuck all with it. Really disappointing.

Also... what do you mean Phatsa doesn't know what the omegaverse is while he literally lives in it? Are you really telling me that in his 22 years of life he didn't encounter a single person who mentioned those words? That it didn't occur to a single person in his circle of friends/family/exes to ever explain to him how the world worked? It would have made so much more sense for him to know everything, have been tested as a beta, and then have manifested as a pure omega, which is a premise that is actually used in the Omegaverse.

That conflict with Tim and the other omega, which they wrongly chose to focus on instead of the father being completely obsessed with finding a pure omega, was absurd. The conflict itself makes a lot of sense, but in the premise of the Omegaverse, it wasn't well executed, and simply because you could literally remove all Omegaverse aspects and the conflict could still happen the exact same way. So why, in a series that is all about the Omegaverse and exploring how this universe works, did the writers/producers/director choose a conflict that actually doesn't have anything to do with said universe to create tension?
