I want season 2 with the same actorsI read somewhere that they removed a lot they should release a uncut version…
I still hope they announce sth in the next iqiyi conference. And ikr we truly deserved it as it was, without a single cut😑😭

im am about to get the wetv subscription in like a couple minutes but i wanted to come on here and ask, is it…
Imo it doesn't even compare, this is far superior. I wasn't even excited about this drama but decided to watch anyway and now it's my top3. Just like how some think the capital arc was disappointing in terms of romance because of all the suffocating angst and complexity, there are also some who found the 2nd half more intriguing in terms of plot and acting. I too had to stop for 2 days after ep31 to continue the rest since it was too much for me, while some of my friends really loved ep30-32. You would have to watch and find out for yourself but it's definitely 💯 a must watch.

When Madame Yu came slinking in to give condolences she reminded me of Kaa, the evil snake in the Disney version…
I found everything about her to be glorious tbh. Her ending is also my favorite and makes sense. She was a true worthy opponent since the beginning.

I'll save this comment as an example of someone weeping in dismay from having free will in case you really withdraw midway.

Exactly!! I was so happy when she did that. I think it's the first time I've seen a woman in a drama walk away…
I never liked her but I found myself cheering when she started clapping back and grew a spine. If she had been like this from the beginning, a lot of these events wouldn't have come to pass.

She isn't hated for not taking her son along, she's hated for not choosing to remain as yjx's wife, facing whatever…
She had a child, how dare she not put up with the rest of them just because they come in a package deal with her son. Look at how they all kept dragging ji in to blackmail her into remaining tied up in that family and deal with her husband kidnapping other people's wife every few days.

But yeah really, they just want her to suffer more alongside them and are passing it off an concern for her son growing up in yjx's care even if it sounds very misogynistic. Yjx grew up in his loving mother's care and turned out to be such an exemplary human being after all. His son will probably turn out better now that they are common folks on their own.

I believe that anyone who condemns and hates Fan Ya Ke for not taking her son with her is being misogynistic.…
She isn't hated for not taking her son along, she's hated for not choosing to remain as yjx's wife, facing whatever the yu family faces and getting exiled as one of them. Apparently then the son would have a great loving upbringing and future. But she was selfish for leaving that family and marraige instead of going wherever her son goes. As if she hadn't tried one last time to accompany yjx and her son to be an ordinary family in ganlin when he applied for a transfer but he dismissed and treated her like dirt anyway.
If she had real character development she should've happily been a humiliated dirt all her life because at least that way her son could grow up with 2 parents who hate each other and a dad who never humbles himself and compares his mom to his obsessions. Clearly a woman needs to cling to her cheating abusive husbands thigh to keep their family intact and not go anywhere because she birthed a child now and thus her right to get basic decency and self respect must be forfeited.

Actually the real reason they are mad is that all the bad guys didn't suffer enough and one of them even got away free and at peace. They wanted a fairy tale villain ending for her, miserable, bitter and hated by all.

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
They wanted him to refuse, be labelled a traitor, die in his place if necessary, have his family exiled or imprisoned…
More than just widowing. His actions and disobedience doesn't bring consequences onto him only. The northwest would be in trouble and his brothers wouldn't be left alone. When zhao ling was imprisoned on false charges even without any convicting we saw what happened to his household, family and his wife. Now imagine if it was direct disobedience that establishes him as a traitor putting his supposed faction over the emperor himself.

Sorry but if 15, 16 and even 17 is boring to you then this drama is not for you. Unless you are more into political intrigue and tragedy which increases in the 2nd half.

I was extremely angry and annoyed by what happened too and hated everyone for those 2 days but that doesn't mean I can't see what would have happened otherwise and what a pointless thing it would have been. Considering mo yi was already convicted and verdict was passed. If the emperor wasn't so insecure and biased we wouldn't need to see this day.

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
I am in episode 31 now and i am just angry, why are they all blaming Zhao Ling for General Mo's death. Firstly,…
They wanted him to refuse, be labelled a traitor, die in his place if necessary, have his family exiled or imprisoned and leave the yu's roaming as usual. As if that'd resolve the main issue at the heart of the verdict and compliance i.e, getting the northwest out of the implications and not letting them remain in conflict with the crown through dubious loyalty and another potential faction forming in the process of uprooting one.

When she abandon him the yu family haven’t fallen yet and still rich and can take care of their heir and she…
Even when she was there, everything about the child was decided and handled by the yu family anyway.
