This drama isn't really about baseball itself. Instead, it focuses on the management side of a professional team, rebuilding the roster, handling contracts, solving internal conflicts, and transforming a struggling organization.
Male lead perfectly portrays a calm, intelligent, and highly competent general manager who solves problems through logic rather than emotion. Watching him outsmart executives and gradually rebuild the team is satisfying.
However, despite its strong premise, I found the story less engaging than many people claimed. The pacing is quite slow, with much of the drama centered around meetings, negotiations, and office politics. While these aspects are realistic and well-written, they can also become repetitive if you're not invested in the business side of sports.
The supporting cast performs well, and the workplace dynamics feel believable, but I never became emotionally attached to the baseball team or its players. As a result, many of the victories and setbacks didn't have the emotional impact they were clearly intended to deliver.
