Also, a premise with switched at birth warlord heirs, faked deaths, and returning years later engaged to the brother for revenge... is the textbook definition of a dog blood/melodrama plot! The trailer promising 'tragic romance and revenge of the century' literally confirms that. And again, I explicitly said serious Republican dramas exist. My point was about where short dramas inherited their fast paced melodrama DNA from, not that high brow Republican sagas don't exist... You're arguing against things I never actually claimed....

I think you misread my point!I said Republican dramas are the backbone of short dramas because that’s literally how the short drama trend started. Long before short dramas were marketed, Republican dramas were famous for their "dog blood" plots..meaning crazy, melodramatic, and over-the-top storylines. That was their staple style (though I’m not saying serious ones don't exist). Saying a Republican drama "gives short drama vibes" is ironic because short dramas actually stole their craziness from Republican dramas to hook people with fast dopamine hits. It’s not that Republican dramas are copying short dramas; short dramas were inspired by Republican dramas! The issue with this show is that people expected a serious historical piece when it was never meant to be one. It’s funny when people think it’s giving short drama vibes when republican dramas are the backbone of short dramas, republican dramas are known to be dog-blood dramas, they are the makjang equivalent of kdrama, if you have seen makjang drama like "penthouse" these were those kind of drama which has that grip on audience bec they are crazy and overdramatic so they were used on short drama to give you dosage of dopamine.
