I guess it all comes down to taste. I like stories that are tight and fast paced. For example one of my most favorite Cdramas is Reset, eventhough it has a lot of side characters, the story revolves around the main leads and they have active involvement in evey sub plot, the side characters stories are all tied to the leads. That's the kind of drama that I enjoy. I dont like dramas with separate convoluted storylines for many many side characters that I dont really care about.
