I was so heartbroken over the ending the first time I watched it because FDB didnt get any closure at all, LLH didnt even say good bye to. He was left hanging not knowing what happened to LLH. But in the end I finally accepted that they found him at the beach and I'm no longer heartbroken😂

I usually hate mortal arcs in Xianxias so I dont know how I'll feel about this being set only in mortal world👀

He had to give the flower to the king for two reasons, one: LLH was the only royal blood left in the central plain (king himself wasnt royal blood) so if anyone found out about this, it would disturb the peace of the country. In one of those final scenes LLH even asks FDB "who do you king desevers to be an emperor more than the king and do you think the peace is worth it?" This is what he was thinking about when he made the dicision. Plus the king may never have let him go if he didnt know LLH's days were numbered (remember LLH told FDB the king took his pulse.)
Ofcourse the second reason was that LLH used the flower as a leverage to make the king let go of FDB and his father🥺
