It's really a very good series through and through. I'm not someone who needs a HE or even prefers it over a quality drama, so this isn't a complaint but rather a comment. This series is gut wrenching for me. There are other far more bitter or tragic series out there but for some reason this one messes me up every time. I thought rewatching it would be better, but nooooo. It just messes with me at an even earlier point. For this genre, I guess the story and acting are that good. I'm all bitter sweet-wanting to bargain another way out-not getting my way-yet won't turn the show off. Ugh!!

Lee Dong Wook clad in a trench and Gong Yoo clad in military coat walking side by side on a dark country road...bless whoever made that happen. *sigh* I still really, really love this. This series demonstrates why k-dramas rock. How did I forget abt OST, heart fluttering Gong Yoo, and so many classic scenes. Another steller Lee El performance. Kim Go Eun was a perfect Ji Eun Tak. I love watching GY and LDW perform together.
I needed a dose of escapism and this series sucks me in each time.

Watched it because I'm a Machida Keita fan. Loved him once again, but whoa, Takeuchi Ryoma floored me. He simply made it difficult to focus on anything but him. I literally felt mesmerized - not for his looks or moves (which are praiseworthy) but everything....Suzuki Shinya was like the embodiment of Pan or a human work of kinetic art.
The ending wasn't realistic and that bummed me out a little bc it felt too fluffy for the show. It's still a good show and I recommend it...just the end was a very different vibe + 100% "wouldn't it be nice. "

I get that they want to buffer the heavy subject matter to appease the masses, and some of the comedic interjection works well, but I think some parts should have been omitted. Even so, on the parts I don't care for, wow Joseph Zeng is phenominal. He can pull of the aloof, subtle, and overt. Impressive.

The cast are seriously great actors and make the idol drama really far above "idol" drama expectations while retaining the cute, quirky, lightheartedness. Just rewatched and omg I forgot about the precious 100 day anniversary scene. One of the most golden Kdrama high school idol cringey scenes I can recall. The sibling chemistry and execution. Angels and toenails will never be the same for me, therefore, imho, even the side bits are hall of fame. Liked it the first time I watched it, but after visiting it, I like it even more.

A good choice for someone looking for a quirky, light hearted kdrama. However, imho, it's nothing that stands out. The actors are fine, the story is alright...but after the first episodes it felt meh.

I'm a JKY fan. I was curious to see him in DK. At ep 6, I'm bored and over it. Maybe it's because Born Again, Atypical Family, and NWABU were just so darn impressive. I'll keep DK in my back pocket for after an emotional melodrama.

Highly underrated. I agree with many others...hilarious and good. Considering content, I didn't think it was trashy or overly sensationalized like most other dramas with similar content. If you don't have an interest in the topic, don't watch it. If you do, def check it out. The quality is on par with current dramas (vs typical 2006 kdrama which tend to look super dated).

I LOVE Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo's package scene! It will prob be one of my most fav k drama scenes ever made! From the run to the most spendid I am so busted performance. I had to stop and rewatch it bc it was so awesome. SHK and KJW were so awesome together too!
I didn't expect so many hilarious parts of this series. I thought the hype was around SJK/SHK and was not at all prepared for Jin Goo in all of his infinite glory. Wow. I really loved the JG/KJW chemistry and performances.

When looking for the novel for story clarification, I saw that Mr. Guo has been in scandals for decades over plagiarism. Assuming that's why I can't find the book version.
SUPER CREEPY to know he is/was(?) a director at EE-Media where he has a long history of sexually harassing people. Yes, apparently, EE-Media doesn't limit it's prey to actors.
Sorry, had to note. There are so many dramas out there and I watch so many it's hard to keep count, let alone know all of the players and connections...so when I see where an "allegedly" (bc not prosecuted) abusive (at best) company revealed and one of it's perpretrators involved in a series, I call it out. It sucks that MJTY is connected to that, because I really like this show and the actors.

It's a unique and well done series in so many ways...so many. I went in knowing that many fans were unsatisfied with the ending but didn't know specifics. I actually tend to be a fan of well done open ends or endings that stray from the norm, so I was curious....and I'm left with some psuedo-ghosted feeling. I don't know what I thought of the ending because I didn't know that there was an ending or what to think because what did I just watch? I searched online and found that the series apparently has a well deserved title: "the most cruel cliffhanger drama of the year." That's a pretty dramatic title but may be deserved.

You haven't attempted to understand one thing I have written. When the grievances you list are unfounded, why do you care so much? Because you misunderstood my post? Stop picking on people and go enjoy your day.

I feel like a canary in a strange coal mine. If I can't joke about how bad I thought something was...yikes. Make no mistake, however passionate I feeI about something, I would never want to make it personal. If I feel something was acted or directed poorly, people can excel the next attempt. Actually, I kinda love it when those surprises happen.

Wow. For the opine Keng wasn't given his dues, you call me a waste. For using overt humor to express an opposing opinion, using the def of trolling, you call me a troll. Good thing you scored so many "likes" or hypocrisy would be for naught.

So that we are having the same conversation- My opinion is based solely on acting for this series and not on how the character was written or backstory. If we focus only on our opinions of acting ability and execution for the role Khem, then from what I gather from your comment, we do have polar opinions.

For the love of God, a smoking hot shaman in the form of Keng appears in the steamy jungle and we get stuck with a series about Khem, the embodiment of a creepy plastic doll with rolling glass eyes. I wanted Rampheung to slap Khem to see if he could react remotely human.
Keng is a good actor and I was really excited to watch him play this role but I ended up just feeling terrible for him. I hope he isn't trapped in this cp. What a waste! A shout out to Tle and FirstOne for carrying the burden. It's a shame that quite a bit of good was spoiled.

The ending scene/cinematography is so beautiful!

After avoiding wuxia/period dramas (everything paled in comparison after The Double), I was happily swept off my feet. Quality series. Some repeated tropes, but they executed it well and in unique combo.
Chen Zhe Yuan is just so damn good. His chemistry with Li Qin was wonderful. The CZY-LQ-Chen He Yi dynamic was phenom.
I am so relieved bc so many cdramas just spoon feed eye candy. The actors in FH are def attractive but they are really good at their craft as well. Music was great and spot on.
Really, a strong cdrama. I just hope that behind the scenes the actors are being treated well.

I agree, very underrated. Impressive story/script. KKY, JSY, and LSH were individually excellent and together phenomenal. It firmly stands the test of time.
Fate by Lee Chan Sol, Gong Ji Chul's theme, is such an incredible song and perfect for GJC. Really the whole soundtrack was well thought out and perfect.
I hesitated because of the ratings. Luckily, I dove in because it is one of my fav k dramas.
This series' ratings- 7.3...what the?@^#!! I just can't understand! Maybe people played arm chair judge rather than rating the actual show?

I loved Born Again. That's how he got on my radar.
